    What's new
    • Front-facing video chat camera
    • Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
    • Camera flash
    • Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
    • Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
    • What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
    • Split buttons for volume
    • Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

    What's changed
    • The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
    • An aluminum border going completely around the outside
    • Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
    • Everything is more squared off
    • 3 grams heavier
    • 16% Larger battery
    • Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

New buttons+trim are amazing looking and the more square look is cool too. However, isn't 4g available only in like Chicago or something. At least that's what I last remember hearing.

Saw this a while ago, but I didn't think anyone here would be interested.
BTW, the "Connect to iTunes" screem is on a 3GS, not the 4G.
Pretty cool too, but it's not really a design that you would expect from Apple though.

Maybe, but there still aren't true 3G networks in the United States that are capable of transferring large amounts of data. You can't stream television on the 3G networks here (nor do we have DVB-H for that matter), so I don't know how much better a 4G network would be. Plus they could just be calling it the "iPhone 4G" because they don't know the real name.

Also, front-facing cameras are pretty useless, especially in North America. People in Europe barely make video calls as it is. It's good as a 0.3 MP mirror though.

It looks infinitely better than the 3g/3gs. I love this design. Looks way more industrial which is a definite plus for a smartphone.

No camera button = sad face, but whatever... The absence of the rounded edges makes this look like a seriously nice phone, while the previous design, personally, made me think of it as nothing more than a "toy" rather than a smartphone.

Front facing cameras can be used for profile pics (you don't need a high res pic for a 150x150 img hmm).

4G is available only on Sprint, and even then, on limited regions [portland being one of them though, hehe..]

But if I wanted a 4g phone I'd get an Evo. HOT.

Still: No physical keyboard. Apple will probably never make an IPhone with a keyboard...

The only reason it's called 4G is because it's the fourth gen iPhone.
iPhone HD, and iPhone 4G are names that have been tossed around.

    Fake, or not final.

I really doubt apple will release this build now that it has been "leaked."

Anyways, if they did a lot of hardcore apple fans would be mad, some theories include that by leaking a version of one of their designs apple gets free feedback from all the major techies of the net and can fix some issues + free promotion. The back story just seems kinda etchy though.

If the back story is true, apple still could use this to their benefit.

The new design may be part of the whole distancing the iphone from the ipod touch apple has been trying to create. And I believe 4g is because it is the fourth generation iphone, much like the iphone/ipod touch 1g,2g,3g corresponding to "version".

Some of the new features seem really unnecessary/excessive for an apple product, and the design doesn't really fit the current product line, it may just be one of numerous phones being tested, a complete hoax(publicity stunt), but either way I wouldn't expect the future iphone "4g" to be to the same specs as the leaked version/pictures.

Definitely not fake, and it's most likely is the finalized version.
Just because it was leaked though, doesn't mean they're not going to release it.
There has been SO many occasions where leaked stuff has always been the real thing.

meh, I like the new features and stuff but the design of the phone isn't that well Appleish. They usually make more rounded "softer" looking products. And thats what I liked about Apple sad.gif

Either way, it will definitely make the 3GS a lot cheaper.
I hope I can get an iPhone in the summer.
