sometimes there is a need for me (i trust for many of us) to do so .

any tips on staying awake, and making sure you do not fall asleep in class the next day?

thanks for any suggestions and constructive feedback

i sometimes sleep at 8pm to 9pm, when i wake up i can last 2-3 hours longer so its a positive tradeoff

    Stay busy. Always do something.

When I try to pull an all-nighter and just sit around bored I start thinking about sleep and that's the moment I start to get tired.

... but if you're bored why you would even stay awake... just go to sleep already

When I don't have work my sleep schedule gets kinda messed up after a while and I wake up at like noon which I don't like, so after it's getting too bad I pull and all-nighter so that the next day I can go to sleep at like 8pm and put my sleeping cycle back in order.

like the person said above, i think you should always be doing something

but even if i do something the whole night, i sometimes cant resist dozing off especially if i get no sleep or very few hours of sleep

You got it. I never have problems staying up all night when I am doing school work. When I am just staying up all night to not oversleep, I will invariably get really sleepy at around 4 am and often fall asleep. A couple of tricks to keep going is to take a shower, make some coffee and start doing something, like cleaning up. What doesn't work for me, is just to take a couple of hours of sleep. I will either just not hear the alarm and sleep until noon, or I will hear it and I will wake up super tired and feel like shit for the rest of the day.

caffeine will stop me from falling asleep, but it won't make me feel more alert.

Just stay focused on what needs to be done and you shouldn't have any problems staying awake if you were already reasonably rested before hand.

What works really well for me is a 15 minute nap at the end of it, that's enough for me to fell good for the day.

100 tablet packs of 200mg caffeine pills. Cheapest and most effective method for sure.

sweet go a long way to help you stay alert in school the next day. To me, I have no problem with going without or sleeping for 1 hour sleep for a long time because God blessed me with just being able to. However whatever you do while staying up, Never ever lie on your bed because inertia will take over!!
