I don't really care myself, and I do drink myself.

I don't have anything against under aged drinking per se but lots of kids are stupid with it and don't know their limits yet/choose to cross them.

Its fun, it can make you more sociable, its a common activity you can do with so many different people especially people you don't share common hobbies with.

I think most people who hang out with friends often are more likely to drink.

They get some kind of liquor out of parents liquor cabinet/get older friend to buy some/ buy some themselves/make it themselves/a friend has some/any other way you can think of to get alcohol underage.

Personally I just stick with beer and avoid the harder stuff for the most part. If you just want to get really drunk though hard stuff is the way to go. Listen to your body and stop right when you start to feel a little nauseous, this will prevent you from puking if you know when exactly to stop. Drinking water before crashing will prevent hangovers. If drinking in bars you can go through a fair bit of money, I recommend taking no more than what you are willing to spend and leave your bank card at home.

and rum is great, you can mix it with so many different things

Everybody is or should be responsible for his own body and who am I to intefere if you want to put your body under the influence of alcohol.

Pretty much the same answer as above, everybody knows what they're doing.

    Why people do it?
    Peer-pressure. Pleasure. Habbit. Addiction.

People who are most likely to drink
I think pretty much everybody at least tries it once.

    How they start
Imitation I guess. Same as smoking, you see adults doing you wanna do it because you want to be seen as an adult.

Like everything, it's good in moderation.

I drink a few times a week. Most times it's just a few beers or some wine. (Possibly some smironoff ICE...delicious)

Nothing wrong with having alcohol. The thing that most people forget is that it's JUST a beverage; they treat it like a drug.

A lot of that is culture based. Here in the United States there is a huge push towards sobriety and recreational drugs in schools. When the age limit is set to 21 and recreational drugs are illegal people are going to be curious about them more so than open countries. When the society teaches it to be a drug (USA) the people will treat it as a drug. That being said, the most likely people to seek out an experience with alcohol are high-schoolers plain and simple.

The way most people underage will drink is to ONLY get drunk. Most people actually hate the taste of alcohol. They want the end effect, which is the dimming/enhancing sense.

The biggest problem with that is most underage people don't know HOW to drink. Things like being aware of who you're hanging out with, how to mix drinks, coordinating transportation and such.

Personally I treat liquor as just something to drink. I enjoy the taste and like having something to sip on that isn't made of High-Fructose corn syrup lol.

I enjoy hard liquor mixes, but you only have one. After one or two mixes it just loses the taste like how the generic gallon of vanilla ice cream just becomes cold after eating so much of it.

My 2 cents: If you're gonna get drunk do not drive because that's fucking retarded.

I've heard that the more educated you are, the more likely you are to drink heavily, but I'm wondering whether or not that's legit.

throwing up is your body basically saying, if I didn't get rid of this, I would be dead.
you could always drown in your own vomit, if you pass out.
    drinking occaisionally - fine
    drinking and driving - no
    getting drunk - bad idea

Still it would be interesting to see if there is some sort of causal relationship.

I live in a wine region and our country is like 2 in europe for consumption of alcoholic beverages (I think it's like 50 liters per year per person) so drinking is almost a tradition already.

But yeah most people start drinking while in highschool out of the whole peer pressure lets get drunk and stuff. And it doesn't really end that well most of the time because alcohol is relatively cheap and easy to get (nobody cares about the drinking laws, you can order a beer as long as you don't look like a real child, so when we were 14 we already started going to pubs and stuff confusedsmilie.gif). On the other hand people that live in villages and stuff and produce wine at home start drinking at like 7 and alcohol doesn't present any problems because you learn to treat it just as a beverage and have a good tolerance.

And yeah drinking and driving is a real problem. Slovenia has the same amout of deaths because of drunk driving as Australia that has 10 time more inhabitants.
