So, pretty much, one of my friends at school said that I'm not putting "tips" on my pen mods. He said that the pen tips were the point of the inktube where the pen would contact paper when you write and where ink comes out of.

If that's true, then what's the actual name for what we've called "tips"? huh.gif

THey are correct, but it's not that you're not putting tips on your mods, it's that your mods don't have inktubes/aren't writable. When psers think of tips the first thing that comes to mind is the front portion of the pen that screws on/off, If you said tip of the inktube we would probably think the metal tip of the inktube. <- I think that's what they were talking about...

outisde of PS, nobody cares about the screwable metal tip so i dont tihnk it even has a name.

we call it metal tip, then inktube tip is whaat they think of as tip.

Isn't where the ink comes out called the ink "nub"? Or is that only fountain pens or whatnot.

its only in fountain pens, and its called a nib

i think in general, the whole pointy bit of the pen is called a tip

i think it really depends on what you're talking about, because i usually say the tip of the inktube, the tip of the pen, etc.

Not really nobody cares. The pens manufacturer/company cares.
It's called mouthpiece. That is what the Pilot(Malaysia) sales/customer representative called it.

    plastic mouthpiece and metal mouthpiece.

and yes, tips is what i (or most ppl) call for the pen point(point size) when i wasn't into ps yet.
