does anyone else play Urban Terror?
I've been on a computer FPS spree but so far nothing surpasses this one for me. It plays very well on low power computers, and is free of course.
What I enjoy the most about it is its focus on skill- everyone has the same weapons and such, every game. There is no silly gold or perk system. No accounts. Just download and play. -

well it might be, i havent played it
UT isn't graphically stunning, what i really love about it also is that it has one of the most free physics engines i've experienced. there are alot of movement/jumping techs that allow you to move in helpful ways -

woot! yes, I play this often. I play on the zombie server tons and tons as well as I play Evolution's swim 24/7 server... I've been looking for someone to play with for a long time. what's your name on urt? mine's Patrol.
EDIT: and yes, there are some very nice jumping mechanics in the game. there are whole servers dedicated to "walljumping" as it's called. -

umm i play on sniper servers xD |WC| snipers paradise occasionally, but im most often in |WC| Aussie Sniper Maps, when they run the beach, dealey, and intermodel beta stages
otherwise, i scan for TDs with 3-10 players on maps that are okay to snipe in
what's your setup?

when I play closer quarters, AK, DE, kevlar, silencer, medkit
when I play longer ranges, m4, DE, kevlar, silencer, HE
I don't really snipe much except on zombie server... I'll search for you sometime, but for the most part I play weekdays anywhere between 4-10ish Central time.

i'll only play close quarters when im forced to by pressure happy pros. when i do, i use the g36
the other setups vary by maps. i pretty much always use an sr8. on big maps i use tacs. on medium maps (algiers) i'll use tacs and smoke, because no one else uses tacs. i like medkits, i dont use kevlar or helmets at all. kevlar impairs my stamina and i find that if someone can headshot me, they can usually manage to shoot me one more time -

I only really use kevlar because I use a small fov because I have a small screen and I need the screen to be a bit more zoomed in.
But whenever I run an sr8, I put a dot on the screen with a sharpie pen where the crosshairs go, so I can zoom in and be right there. Also, what color tacs do you use? I can never tell the enemies from my friends while using tacs. -

i use cyan, it's the least obnoxious
i can quickscope without dots now. i used to do that though. but uh, here, use this man

yea, on swim whenever I'm not playing for fun, I can get a 2-1 KD or 3-1 KD just running around with my AK...

when im actually playing for KD, on a small map, for whatever reason, i can manage an LR-300 + laser. but i have no fun like that. i only have fun with the sr-8 xD that's how i am with any fps -

You suck, I downloaded this game and have already logged in a bout 4 hours. Thats a lot for me with my schedule. Its fun, fairly easy if you're a CS player.
I've only been playing dressingroom. G36 all the way. Semi for ranged, full auto for close quarters.

yea. We should all play some time. How about friday at 7 o'clock central time on one of these servers: UR|teamdeathmatch, UrbanTerror for terrorists, or Paladin Warriors Teamdeathmatch... URT for terrorists usually has a lot of nubs and few pros, Palad Warriors is all decent players, not great. UR server is shadow's team's server but I've never played there.
I really recommend trying the zombie server... you can learn to jump there because of unlimited stamina and I wasn't good before going (1.5-1 KD usually) now I can get 2 or 3 to 1 KD almost consistently (when not sniping...) Just a tip. -

i've only played "beatdown alley" or something like that so far; i went into another lobby once and the health was like 3 or 4 times as much as it was in the one i'm used to, i prefer lower health, makes the game more tactical and less spray&pray

wouldn't higher health mean less spray and pray since you would have to keep the sights on the target for longer? with lower health, spray and pray could kill instantly. -

my ping sucks indeed, but UT has an amazing anti lag system. you'll notice if you lag sometimes, even if you shoot someone and they keep moving, they'll die a second later once the game registers that you did "hit" them initially.

i don't play on my clan's servers because i dont like bots LOL
they have two bots per team i think until the player count goes above 10, which is too many for me.gif)

Bamp. And yes, learn to circle jump and bunny jump(not sure of the exact name for this).. They're great for rapid entry into a building. Bunny jump then power slide.

Ehhh I got bored can't believe people actually cheat. 2:1 kill:death ratio is easy to get, most of the people on are kids who've never played a decent FPS. Went back to playing UMS Startcraft Broodwar, hahah.
