    Mod Conceptualization by Guitrum

    The Breaker:

    ~

    Materials:

    [2x] Uniball Impact RT
    [2x] Pilot G2
    [1x] Sanford Sharpie Pen
    [1x] Rubber Band

    Tools:

    Clear tape
    Teflon tape
    File
    Wire snips
    Razor blade

    Stats:

    Length: 11cm-21cm
    Weight: 15g
    Style: Double Sided
    Inktype: N/A
    Functionality: Portable
    Cost: ~$12-$15

    Tutorial:

    1) Gather your materials.

    2) Dismantle the materials until you have 2 G2 large body pieces, 2 G2 small body pieces, 1 Sharpie body, 2 G2 grips, 2 IRT tips and 2 G2 inktube tips.

    3) Scribble out all of the ink from the two inktube tips so that no ink is left.

    4)
    a. Break off the Sharpie cap clip and attach it with tape to the Sharpie backcap. Put backcap/cap combo into the Sharpie body.
    b. Use my text removal method to remove the text.
    c. You should have this.

    Date: Wed, May 5 2010 08:42:38

    5)
    a. Cut the Sharpie body to 3.5cm.
    b. Cut and sand the small G2 body pieces to 3cm.
    c. Combine all 3 pieces to make this. Sand/add tape wherever necessary.

    6) Sand .25cm off of the top of the large G2 body pieces then cut V-shaped cuts across from eachother exactly how it is shown here.

    7) Cut off and sand the thinner bit off of the back of the G2 inktube tip. then cut/sand off a SMALL bit from the front of the tip like shown.

    8)
    a. Place the cut inktube tip with the rubber band in the V-shaped cuts like shown.
    b. Screw on one IRT tip.

    9) use a spare inktube to maneuver the rubberband through the middle piece like so.

    10) Now maneuver the rubberband through the second large G2 body piece the same way in the previous steps. Screw everything together but keep the rubberband on the outside.

    11) Cut the second inktube tip the exact same way.

    12)
    a. Get the inktube tip to hold the rubber band like so
    b. Screw on the last IRT tip.
*this WILL take several tries. if the rubber band slips through, go back to step 9 and continue again.

    13) On both sides, wrap teflon tape around the section that is lower than everything else.

    14) On both sides, apply grips.

    15) Congratulations! You have just made The Breaker!

any body that has the same diameter as a g2. i used the sharpie cuz its found in america and when its cleaned, the shade of black mimics g2 grips. kinda foggy... hard to explain

    it's not the same diameter.

Also, please note: the sharpie body used is the original sharpie pen. since then, two more have been released. One is retractable and one is capped but the cap is silver. You should be able to see the difference.

I like the concept of this

Although I see a couple problems:
    not very good looking
Difficult and time consuming to make
    not soundless?
    may bend when spinning

Eh, anyway, good job I guess.

Really goood mod and tutorial. I think the concept may be used much in the future smile.gif thumb.gif

But.. eh what kind of name is "The Breaker" facepalm.gif new name please. But other than that nice job.

    1) agreed
    2) it screws together, so it can't really break apart

watch the video before you comment. the rubber band shit is to keep it together when in your pocket and to allow it to come back together. it also gives a feedback sensation when spinning

its not that hard to make, you just need your measurements to be precise. as for time, i made the tutorial in under half an hour. so take out time needed to take the pictures and its a 15 min mod.

how does it look bad? 0.o trust me, ive seen worse...

it doesnt bend when spinning... like, at all. its pretty damn solid.

its silent when spinning... idk wheretf you're coming up with these complaints because you obviously havent made it

How often will the rubber band have to be replaced? I noticed some of my rubber o rings starting to wear away after a while on my mods. I have a feeling the constant tension might cause the same effect on the rubber band?

    thank you ^^

my guess is it depends on the age of the rubber band. brand new im sure it would hold just fine but if its old and flaky, dont use it :/

i just made a prototype to see how it is,it's a great design and everything is replacable.

    thumbs up in my book.

hardest part was finding a good rubber band to use and the replacement for the ink tips( i used an inktube and an q- tip).

since i used a small rubberband it took me an hour

okay, my final thoughts after seeing the vid:

Cool Idea, but not something I personally would use
    mainly because:
    1. Short mods fall down in my pocket (My OCD doesn't like that)
    2. I don't have problems with mods breaking...
but other than that, this is a good idea put into a good mod.
Keep up the good work. thumb.gif
    EDIT:
I really like the one with sailors, looks a lot better.

any office supply store(like Office Max or Office Depot), i subbed a regular signo with the grips holding the tip at the ends.
and as for the tips with ink i used a q-tip to hold the rubberband.
