It's one month already since strat1227 has been promoted, so it is time for him to pass the public evaluation.

Please no flaming, post comments / feedback if you wish so.

Remember that while the results of the poll are of great importance, the rest of the moderating staff have the final say on the decision.

Retain. I really mean no personal offense to you at all, and I think you'd be a great moderator, but I just don't really see the reason for you becoming a mod. I mean, the past few mods were made because they had a specific purpose to respond to the growing community, shoutbox, and watching over the trade section, but your promotion was rather.....random =\ There's no reason at all to not make you mod, because you are indeed a great candidate, but there's also no real reason to grant you full moderator status either, since the community isn't in any need of a new mod. IMO, I prefer that people would become mod for a specific purpose, rather than the sake of becoming a general mod, but, that's just me. I think you'd be better off being head of the research department hehe. Nothing really against you, I just think that if UPSB actually needs a new mod, then you'll be the one, but, as of now, I think it should be kept as it was before your promotion. smile.gif

I disagree. I think we're running a little low on moderating power, and we need more people to mod just everything. I was actually thinking that we might need one more mod on top of strat in the near future... but I couldn't think of an active, qualified person.

I feel like current mods are becoming less active, including myself, and we need someone to fill in that gap. Strat has made many contributions to PS, and he continues to be a strong leader.. and he's very active, at least for now. I'm in favor of his promotion.

I won't vote yet 'cause I'm not sure. I'm really slanting towards him being a mod because of what JC said and strats really active now but I was still wondering whether his current actions are only a means for him to become a moderator (no offence strat) what I mean is like if you are only active and helpful now because he has been a newly added mod. I'm not sure if it'll slow down or you'd wear out from the hard work. By the way Zombo, what are the exact things duties for being a mod. This is not to mock you in anyway, Strat you know I love you!!(not being gay) I ythink you'd do a great job and you really deserve it!!

Voted for full mod of course. I definitely feel like you deserve to be a mod strat! cool guy, helpful, very well qualified, active, experienced, etc. And the more mods the better imo, when some are becoming a little less active due to life XD

However, red names look cooler. I guess b/c the color of blue for mods is too grayish-blue imo.

i think as there arent much mods and strat is a bit active so he shud bcome a mod and hav full authority.

  17. Zombo
    Date: Wed, May 12 2010 15:53:43

the poll results at 61% would make an acceptance the lowest by around 10%.

combined with the high rate of rejection of 10%, highest among accepted mods

strat cannot be made a full mod for now.

He must be re-evaluated in 1 month.

It is not clear the extent of "unserious voters", but please vote seriously next time.

I'm not sure that I understand the reasoning for the high percentage of "retain" votes, beta-mod has all the same powers as a regular mod, and I've certainly done enough modding in the past month for people to know whether they like me as a mod or not, I'm not sure what this next month of evaluation would change

I agree with you. I dunno' why the retain votes should be taken into consideration. Strat has proven he's worth to be a mod already (my opinion)

theres great importance placed on this popular opinion, since its pretty much the only opportunity they have to express their opinion. so the results must be convincing. this is not convincing.

the powers are the same, but it's like awarding tenure.

Yeah I didn't disagree with your decision, I just don't understand the logic behind the voting, I've done enough for people to gather an opinion on the job I've done

like I said, some ppl might have not voted seriously and its not possible to know who did or did not,

maybe next time they'll vote seriously and the results will be conclusive

i think upsb could use a new mod since the previous mods arent really active
and i think this is becoming sort of a cycle.
a new mod comes forth and other mods become less active then a new mod is chosen then some other mods become less active
it seems like its happening... granted, as mods become older, theyre less likely to be active, but im just sayin

all in all, strat would be a good mod. he helps out people a lot on the shoutbox, on the forum in general and whatnot
i accidentally nulled.... -.- my bad

can't help it dunno.gif life gets busier when we grow up lol...
i'm surprised zombo manages to still be so active, and i'm so thankful he is

but sorry i'm becoming inactive and falling into this cycle sad.gif

as for strat's evaluation, not many people voted overall if you compare it to how many votes the other evaluations got.... that's why the retains/strip votes he did get (joke/not joke) counted for so much more
people seem to care less about evaluation polls now maybe? maybe that's why they're not voting, and the total votes isn't like..double what it is now (should be closer to ~120)
--and then, after all the joke (or even not joke) votes are done being given (cause those people who'd vote that way would vote right away), the rest of the votes that people usually give are mostly all grants
-- dunno why, compared to other evaluations, not as many people voted =\

ok im actually gonna be serious on this post. the fact that strat didn't get voted is a bit stupid as strat posses most of the aspects that are needed in moderating an internet forum. he can keep seriousness when necessary but is socially accepted amongst the board as one of the common, retaining a sense of connection with the community which is really important. all the "joke votes" are just kinda stupid as even i did not screw with this as it's a one time official thing. strat i wish you all the luck and hope people stop being idiotic.
