I just finished making a mod that I call the EXVP
- RSVP body, reversed ink tube, and capon back with RSVP grip inside and clip removed
- Front end still has rsvp grip on it with an EXPO dry erase marker cap (picture below)
- On the EXPO cap I added some anyball and g2 grip sections for infinities
- On the rsvp grip under the expo cap I added a very small amount of teflon tape to keep it secure
- This mod thats similar to an MSXA mod
- CoG is just about the CoP, maybe 1 mm off
- 19 cm total length

To me, I think it's creative, but I also did something similar with my friend but we don't use the Expo Marker cap and Profile/Anyball grips.

nice pen..but it look more better if you add tip.

Yeah, I thought about adding a tip but I prefer it without one for some reason
It's nicely balanced now and I think a tip would throw it off balance.... -

you mean..if i put tip it will not balance more??
-

Yes. Since it is balanced almost perfectly without a tip added to it, the addition of a tip would make it too front heavy, making the CoG further from the CoP -

You could try to fit one tip on the front, then insert another tip in the cap on the back to balance.

That should work. But as of now I'm quite happy with the weight and feel of the pen, so I'll be keeping it as is for now -

it kinda remindes me of the msxa with the cap on the front of the rsvp
nice mod, definately wouldn't mind makin it -
Date: Tue, Dec 11 2007 04:27:44
haha niice..
i bet a bunch of people are gunna try to take the cap off to use it...
i was thinking of doing the same but instead..with a comssa cap. -

I don't see why you would reverse the ink tube if there is a cap on the front. You may as well keep the ink tube as normal so that it writes normally.

i guess for balance? -

Nice Mod! I like it
I think you can make it retractable and put a tip on the front to balance it out, that would be cool -
Date: Tue, Dec 11 2007 07:05:29
agreed. i like this one. the cap part. kind a creative and original rather than those pointy tips.

Kinda looks like the unnamed MMT mod that uses a longer piece of G-2 barrel and a plug inserted in it like the one that HGG^2 uses, no tip either.

The reason I reversed the ink tube is because I have the expo cap held on tight with teflon tape and when you pull the cap off the tape gets all mucked up and is a pain to get back in place.
I originally did not have any teflon on the rsvp grip to hold the cap on. That is, until i was doing some infinity tricks and it slid right out
So I was holding a cap and my pen flew across the room. My roommate got kinda freaked out -

Ah, okay. If it was just for balance, like TEK said, you could easily remedy that. Not having the body fly across the room is a better reason though.

i made one similiar to this except i used a Monami BrushPen Cap....Pushed a signo tip into..fit perfectly and slides right over the front of an RSVP..balance was nice too. Too bad Penwish Doesn't carry the Monami Brush Pens anymore V.V

Will a hgg tip really make it that unbalanced? Adding a tip would be it holy shit cool. Maybe you could add something like tack into the backcap to keep it balanced with a tip on.

With a counter balance in the back it should be fine. I don't have any spare hgg tips though; they're all tied up in a metallic comssa, a mx, and a msxa... -

lol it's been a while since the last post in this thread, but i just made it and it is AMAZING. i had to hot glue on it for my signo tip to work though...(probably because i didn't use an expo cap). Just a question though, wouldn't this work on an RSVP vortex? Cause im thinking of trying that out . lol, my French class has a pile of dry erase markers in the back of the class...time to raid it!

Sure. it would work fine on an rsvp vortex.
I guess it would be like an EXVP-Vortex -
Date: Fri, Apr 25 2008 13:18:53
yea i would like to see your mod as a vortex! someone do it and post the pic!!!
-

Hi guys! I just finished posting my tutorial called the EXVP v2! It's made kinda long on purpse, since it is an MP version of the EXVP, and the lead might break easily.
The following is a link, or you might click on the link in my signature (my made my signature a list of my mods):

i haven't read all the posts, and i'm not sure if this is mentioned, but you could but the teflon tape under the rsvp grip so when you take it off its not gay

When i did this i used a sharpie cap they fit on better than expo caps.
and you can screw tips on them. -
Date: Tue, May 27 2008 00:18:52
lol nice. I like mods using simple pens like this. Good job

I went out to look for those Expo caps, but the only kind there was had no ridges on the caps...
Would that still work? I'm not sure if they're the same size -
Date: Mon, Jun 16 2008 22:09:52
Yep, they're the same size. I just used the ridged ones in the tut because those were the onlin ones I could get at college lol.
