hello all, been a long while since I've been here but I've come back with a big idea for a collab(actually more of a documentary/collab), concerning the Phyiscs of Pen Spinning, an idea I've wanted to explore for a while now (in video form)

I talked to my Physics tutor today about the physics of pen spinning, and even though she didnt talk much of it(we're going to discuss more tomorrow) I've learned some news things about the connection between Newton's Concepts/Laws and Pen Spinning.
Ok, so I wanna do a sorta documentary about the physics of pen spinning, which I would also like to present to my Physics class. I imagine it would include a collab of sole pen spinning, explanation of fundamental and advanced tricks and the physics behind them, and its connection to other elements of the real world aswell as its impact on world pastimes.

    So where should I begin?

Lets see, I'm gonna need spinners, editors, physicists, and more lol

My email: [email protected] (if you wanna send ideas, become an editor/spinner, etc)

I guess there's no deadlines since this is still in the conceptual stage.

This sounds like an interesting idea biggrin.gif

Some of the questions I'd like to answer are:

How is a spin(on the hand, finger, palm, etc.) achieved from an aerial trick?

How does the force applied from the fingers allow the pen to move across the hand?

How do the force applied from the fingers and the force applied from the pen/pencil/spinning stick intereact with each other. (this is sorta like another version of the above question)

What is the trend of potential and kinetic energy when a combo starts and ends?

So, what trick / combo am I assigned to?

I'm /in. I'll probably try to use this to solidify my mechanical physics concepts as well.
