Serious Discussion / Skin Shedding?

Ok guys, a month ago, during my math training, I found myself in pain whenever I try to press down my fingers on a surface (e.g. table, etc). It seems like that my skin is already too tight. This was my first hypothesis. A few days ago, when I came back from the training, I found the skin of my skins to have shed. And have shed A LOT. I dunno why this happened, but I guessed first this as a conclusion to my hypothesis. I showed it to a local doctor (and a good friend of my parents) and he said that it will go away in a while. My mom says it's a result from an allergy. I just don't know why how LARGE the hole got. Anyone else know a reason why this happens? (Other than the obvious 'You're shedding skin, duh!')

    Spoiler:

    Right Thumb

    Left Thumb

Guys, I really need help.I'm thinking this is gonna last for a while...Plus school's gonna start in two weeks, so idk if this shedding is gonna go away in two weeks. This is really creeping me out!

That's pretty gross. I have some of that on my hands, but very little. So why is this happening? Like you hands are growing or repetitive use of your hands doing something?

I guess they are growing. This thought seems to go along with my hypothesis. bawling.gif

Yeah that's happened to me. Well at least it didn't get that bad. Anyways my sister has it right now and she went to the doctor and the doctor said it was because your hands are getting sweaty and all the sweat and gunk causes the skin to come off or something. Just wash your hands a bit more or go to the doctor. It's not itcing or anything right?

Dry skin? Skin reaction to some lotion, soap, or something on your pen, Nickel, Stainless Steel and maybe other metals can cause an allergic reaction similar something like that, metal desk? metal coin? maybe you didn't touch it with your hands but apparently symptoms usually start like what you're describing. '

Semi strong bases can do that as well...maybe they had just treated / cleaned a desk or wall that you touched

Obvious things like malnutrition, prolonged exposure to water allergic reaction to soap, dishwashing liquid.....cold dry weather...stress..fungal infection

If you had been modding or spinning before maybe experienced numb fingers it could be from cutting of circulation and peeled a few weeks later because of that.

Sounds / feels like metal to me (feels like from your description I can kind of feel it myself) Writing eating or modding utensils? Metallic smell or taste? (maybe not so much anymore)

Has it ever been red or rashy? It could also be due to soaps or any number of anti-bacterial matierials

Try moisturizing your skin, taking some medicine Vitamin E and if nothing helps or it spreads see a dermatologist.

Could also just be growing 0 _ o as the other kid said...

Haven't applied something to my arms in a while, so it might be dry skin. Perhaps it can be an allergy as well, however one month ago, when I held so many coins, etc, this didn't happened

Nope, no bases (as far as I know) have something to do here.

It has been summer here, so it was very hot O.o i could consider fungal infection. scratchchin.gif

Nope, haven't been modding that much for the past month

It hasn't been rashy or red, so meh

I'd try that, and as much as possible, I don't accidentally peel of my skin

    Growing? scratchchin.gif

Ok guys, this info might help... over the past month, I suddenly had an urge to grow my left hands pinky fingernails, after a while when it had grown a bit, I started scratching my thumb using the pinky. This could explain the left thumb, but this doesn't explain the right though o.O

Wait its symmetrical? Then its most likely an allergic reaction.

ewww.... didn't need to see that... but i see what you mean. Have you been in water too much? the skin starts to get soft and gets vulnerable to shed. Exactly what happens to me at the pool or the beach. Its nasty...

I have that a lot, not in that size but I gets spots like that all over my hands, not all over them but here and there from time to time. My hand skin is pretty fucked up especially around the nails.

idk what you mean about symmetrical, but the left thumb's hole is much bigger than the right

it happens, i had that once, i think it went all the way down to the palm of my hand, i forget. ive had it times other than that tho, it goes away dont worry. it probably shouldnt hurt sao much though, that wrinkly skin underneath is just new, it should be a little sensitive but not too painful

do you pick at/peel the edges of the peeled skin? This always makes it worse. also biting skin/nails is bad. Probably just dead skin. happens to me on and off for about 2 weeks then goes away. LOTION LOTION LOTION

Good news, the skin in my thumbs as well as other fingers are slowly recovering. My doctor recommended applying petroleum jelly BEFORE I'M GOING TO SLEEP. A little bit of bad news is that parts of my left palm are beginning to shed as well. I DUN WANNA SLEEP AT NIGHT WITH PETROLEUM JELLY IN MY HAND.
