Spammer's Bin / Overappreciation for technology?

Well, Im not sure if overappreciation is the term here, but here I go.

Im constantly hearing my parents and other adults bitching about computers. They expect me to take a video file and convert it to a "song" within a matter of seconds. They expect me to have a menu (food) complete and out of the printer within an hour.

Now you gotta understand that an mpeg, mp4, flv etc etc is MUCH different from an mp3 or wmv file. My parents dont understand that, but they constantly complain about how computers made a cure for cancer or some shit.
My dad heard me play a song through my speakers, and requested that he get it on his phone. I said i couldnt, because i was playing an SNSD MV. For one, its embarassing to have your dad play Oh! as his ringtone, cause he's like 47. Second, it was an FLV file, and i didnt feel like recording the noise. He goes off saying how people have CD music converted onto computers and shit. He has a point there, but CD's and FLV's are two completely different stories.
As for the menu, I had it in psd, and saved it as a jpg so i could use my aunt's printer to print it out. My mother expected me to make a change just like that, and have another out the time she was done with that sentence.

Plus, I've seen a fair amount of people in their 40's at Starbucks bitching about how the internet doesnt run as fast on their laptop as the guy next to him. But what they dont realize is that not all computers are the same, and how technology hasnt advanced to where everything can be done in an instant.

Also, I fucking HATE the fact that something is always compared to something extremely superficial.
"If he can do it, how come you cant?"

whatever you do, pretend you're technologically inept like the rest of them if they ask you to do anything

i made that mistake and now i'm "tech support guy" of the household....

When there aren't that many menu items you just click through them all to see what you're looking for. Maybe not if the menus are insanely cluttered (*cough*Word*cough*) but most other applications that order is apt!
