Hi everyone!
I am r2d from Central Asia, Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan (borders with Afghanistan if you know =p).
I remember there used to be many Turkish lyceums and every guy from these sort of lycees keep his pen spinning because Turkish teacher's did that and taught them.
Shortly after they were closed, the students of that lyceums were distributed to other Uzbek schools. That's how I met those nerds in 2002 =p
In a month or two I learned 4 tricks from these guys (thumb around and some other, I just don't know the correct English names for them yet) . Teachers in Uzbek schools used to abuse us if the whole class was doing it, coz it was noisy (not every1 had proper pens and some times fail).
Since then those 3-4 tricks (including thumb around) became rly popular... But now the generation that spins has gone from schools and I don't think the younger generation do it.
Yesterday I accidentally watched a pro spinners' video that shocked me! The pen spinners were so fast and so great that I dropped my mouth
I said "I wanna do it like that!" so I searched the web and now I know that the stuff is called "pen spinning"
So here I am
Edit: I figured out that I do correctly thumb around normal, sonic (34-32) and a bit finger pass (34-32 only pretty fast) and one else trick that I don't know the actual name of (flipping a pen on ur middle finger and catching it with the thumb and the index finger and doing it continuously).
btw i'm experiencing some problems with the board, it keeps loggin me out every 2-3 minutes so I have to log in again to edit posts and etc. -

Hello and welcome here. Cool that there are people in your country that pen spin. INVITE THEM HERE!!!! If I'm reading your description right, I think your doing the pass 23-T1. Not sure though. Check with Zombo (PM him) about your problem. Enjoy your stay here!!!

I will try to explain more, tho my explanations are not clear=)
Pen rotates 180 degrees in the plane which is perpendicular to the ground. You can throw it up higher (till the ceiling) and then it will rotate a lot of degrees in the air before you catch it and then continue doing the trick.
Pen is on the middle finger hold by thumb and index finger nearly as usual as you write, but "ink point" part is far too away from the point you hold it (i'm just too n00b to say it correctly, sry.... u can hold it in the center of the pen if ur pen is too short). As soon as you get off thumb away the middle finger gives a power to pen and it bounces till you catch it in the same position.

yeah exactly! thanx a lot!
I can catch it not all the time tho if I snap it so high (8/10 maybe).
So it's called thumb snap T2-12. But mostly in the class you simply are not allowed to bring it so high so I do only continues 180 degree short 1 snaps.
Right now learning thumb around revers and finger pass.
Edit:Oh, it seems like I do it not in that way tho...
