    image: http://xshadowfire.net/ayatori_mod/DSCN1277.jpg

    name: lakubo jell mod/ayatori pen
length: about 20cm (depends on how far the cap is pushed in)
weight: about 16g (depends on inserts/etc)
    cost: about 600 yen

    nicknamed ayatori pen
ayatori's beloved pen was spread throughout the country (japan)
    it's pretty heavy
    and is highly customizable
(i didn't translate these two lines.
they're just comments and plus they're kind of hard to translate. or i just suck.)

    materials:
    signo x2
    hyper jell x1
    very lakubo x1
    signo knock type 0.7 x1

creation instructions are in the post script (ignore this line, it just means it's in the post script of his blog)

    1. open up the back of the very lakubo and flip the refill, at this time putting an insert in is fine too

    2. in the front of the very lakubo pen, use cellotape or some kind of adhesive to secure the signo tip

    3. cut a pattern on the signo knock type 0.7 grip (this step can be skipped)

    4. near the front of the very lakubo, roll an insert. if you wrap more cellophane tape, the rest of the work will be easier (this step can be skipped)

    5. cover the front of the very lakubo with the signo knock type 0.7
    http://xshadowfire.net/ayatori_mod/DSCN1278.jpg

    6. put the signo tip in the hyper jell cap

    7. cover the bottom of the very lakubo pen with the hyper jell grip. at this time, you can put an insert in the cap as well ( it requires a little skill )
    http://xshadowfire.net/ayatori_mod/DSCN1274.jpg

    extra:
in the case that you have trouble putting the insert in the cap (in fact, even i haven't been able to put it in yet), you can cut the hyper jell grip and then put the insert in.
    http://xshadowfire.net/ayatori_mod/DSCN1274.jpg

    finished.
when you put the hyper jell cap on, put on some pre-cut grips and it will be stable when you put it on

if there is anything you don't understand, please ask a question.

    ==================================================

yea uhh...really loose translation, but should be enough for you to understand.
saizen's mod is on there as well, so i can try and translate that as well if you want me to.

    Updated tutorial Courtesy of -JC-

    Spoiler:
I've seen quite a few people complain about how to make this mod and that the translated tutorial is too vague so I decided to redo the whole thing.

    Pens needed
    -1x Lakubo
    -1x Hyper Jell
    -2x Signos
    -1x Signo Knock Type 0.7
If you happen to have that white signo that I have in my picture, then you can use that grip instead of the Signo Knock Type 0.7 grip, but you'll need to add a couple strips of anyball to the front, back, or both since the signo broad grip is not as long as the Signo Knock Type 0.7 grip.

    Step 1

    -reverse inktube of the lakubo
-take off the hyper jell cap and clip it
    -remove the hyper jell grip
-remove both signo tips from pens
-remove Signo Knock Type 0.7 grip and cut a design into it if you wish
(yeah, that's a lot of parts to step 1...but if I had made a seperate pic for each of those steps, i'd waste so much time)

-you can also put an insert into the lakubo at this point

    Step 2

-take signo tip and place it on the lakubo
    -add tape to secure it

    Step 3

-use a little bit of clear tape and stick the insert that you wish to use onto the lakubo as shown in the above picture
this is just what i prefer to do, you can do it differently if you want--but the result'll be the same so it doesn't really matter
-then take a bigger piece of clear tape and place it on the end of the insert
Make sure that there is a little bit of tape hanging off of both sides of the insert so that the tape can actually stick onto the lakubo grip.
-then just wrap the insert around using the tape so that the insert is nice and tight around the lakubo grip
it's okay for some of the dimples of the lakubo grip and some of the flat part of the signo tip to still be showing because the signo knocktype grip will cover this up in the end (if you use the signo broad grip though, you will need anyball grips or something to cover those areas)

It should end up looking something like this:

    Step 4

-SLOWLY slide the cut up signo knock type 0.7 grip over the insert
Be very careful to make sure the insert does not move too much--even though it's taped down, the grip WILL shift the grip if you are not careful and help hold the insert in place

    Step 5

-Put the other signo tip into the back of the hyper jell cap, and then put the hyper jell grip over the little piece of the lakubo backplug
I would leave ~0.3 cm of empty space between the hyper jell grip and where the backcap starts to widen
-Then put the backcap over the grip, and push until the backcap reaches the point where the lakubo backplug widens
    Optional
-You may also put an insert over the hyperjell grip at this point and put that into the cap as well
(you can tape the insert down onto the hyperjell grip like how the insert was taped down to the grip on the front, but this is not necessary--I personally don't bother with this)
-The insert that I used was a piece of white paper with a design cut out of the paper (you'll see in the following pic).
Sidenote to xxdefinitionxx You don't usually cut the hyperjell grip and then put an insert under it. At least not usually... If anything though (I haven't tried this yet), try putting an insert around a random grip, like a rsvp grip or something, and then putting that inside the hyperjell grip, and then doing it that way. You may need to cut the rsvp grip a bit to fit inside the hyperjell grip, but I don't know for sure, I've never tried[/i]

    And that's it. You're done.
    Finished Product

I'm sorry if I had end up making this tutorial too long, but since it was an issue that the first was too "vague", I made sure that this tutorial was in depth enough to satisfy you all. But yes...this tutorial that I just made is definitely way too long for such a simple mod, but eh, I hope some of you find it necessary and useful. Well, good luck making this and have fun spinning.

It would be awesome if you could give some hints on how Saizens G3 mod is made, I think we figured out how it could be in the "1-answer question thread", so just some details to see if we were correct would be nice =D

Also, do you have any pictures of the Hyper Jell and Signo Knock?

Ah, Sfsr. Who would've thought it used grip from a Dr. Grip on the cap? Damn SAIZEN and his lighting. :( There are also little things a bit different from the variation you came up with. Nothing major it seems from what I can see from the pictures.

    Seconded for the translation of SAIZEN's G-3 mod. :}

Yeah.. I attempted to make this mod and so far its spins well. The only thing is, I don't know where to get those signo knocks. Instead, I used a substitute for the barrel that goes over the grip of the very lakubo. I used go-brite highlighter caps. I cut a good enough length of the cap and placed it over the grip. The only issue about this sub is that its loose when it's placed over the grip so thicken out the grip by adding strips of electric tape so it fits nicely. Make sure you have an insert to put in there so it covers the tape. P.S. You can try it with Hyper Jell caps I think that method works also.

The uni laknock is not the same as the signo knock. I dont know the specifics of the grip since i dont have any but i know it's not the right grip.

I think the pre-cut grips comment at the end is just being redundant.

Signo RT grips are quite a bit narrower...i bought some to compare since i have signo knock as well. You can probably use signo RT grips but getting them over the insert on the front will be a lot tougher than signo knock grips.

I can't find Zebra Hyper Jell, so i try useing Zebra Jimnie Jell like this.
Both have the same body, cap and size, but a bit different at the colored plastic part on the cap.
But i think it doesn't matter.

Second, for the signo tip, i'm using the tip from Uni-Ball Signo Broad (not the normal signo), because i can't find the signo normal, but they have the same tip.

Oh yeah... by the way, why ppl keep saying very lakubo?
Where the hell the 'very' word come from?
it's UNI LAKUBO.... (i think it's a wrong translation from the original jap version).

ANBU, a Very Lakubo is required for the body itself, a normal Uni Signo is too short/hexagonal. As for the grip subs, you can use almost anything you want, Signo Knock Type Grips arent that good IMO, Dr. Grips r win.

No... you got it wrong, what i mean with uni signo broad is for the tip only.
Off course i'm using a uni lakubo for teh body.

    Date: Tue, Aug 12 2008 09:32:48

because of some people's inability to cut a grip -.-'' i'll post a small tut for that

    1. get some sort of gel inked pen, preferably white (like white hgg or white signos )
    2. put the grip that you want to cut over a larger barrel (it should be somewhat difficult to get on, but this is good, you want to stretch the grip out a bit mroe than needed) --(my recommendation is use a G2 barrel that you dont' need )
    3. after you have the grip over the g2 barrel, or whatever other cylindrical barrel you end up using, draw the design that you want onto the grip with the gel ink (any mistakes you make with the drawing can be just rubbed off since it's gel ink)
    4. get some sort of blade, preferably with a handle just cause it's going to be a fairly long process and your hand's gonna get tired faster if there's no handle 5. then press down onto the grip where the line you just drew is... after you push down, DO NOT SLIDE THE BLADE, lift the blade up, and carefully place the blade down for the next cut, and then push back down...and then lift the blade up again, and then push down again --- etc... ----do this until your design is cut out and then just peel the cut out grip away with your fingers
    6. slide the grip off the g2 barrel and you're done

    Thanks for the tut JC.

For step 5, that means it's gonna be a long process isn't it? Does it make your cut smooth, cleaner or anything? And how do you smoothen out rough edges on a cut grip? cause i don't think you can just file it down lol.

i made my own version. it use 1 hgg,1 hyperjell,1signo

heavier than the original version. and more balance and also more momentum.

actualy it's the cross of this mod and the hybird dc hgg/hgg5

no way that's heavier, since 2 signo tips are heavier than a signo and an hgg
