Hey gice I was just watching Singapore News 5 at 10 (that means Channel 5 news at 10 o'clock), and you know at the end as the credits roll they'll have some interesting clips for us to watch? Well today they had about 30 sec on a pen spinning, "the latest craze in Japan" zomg. Naturally they had tons of footage of all the nice combos, and of some noobs trying to learn the 360 haha, or whatever you guys call it now. Anyway I thought it was some heart-warming shit to see how far our art has come, from people laughing at how we have too much time on our hands (which some still do, I'm sure) to them recognizing this as a form of expression. We really have to thank the pioneers/visionaries, especially Kam and David Weis. Without them we'll be a bunch of noobs spinning in our rooms alone trying to figure out how a charge works.

Or maybe I'm just out of touch with the times. Cheers.

    BTW, 360 = Thumbaround.

Yeah I forgot haha. Shows that I associate more with the old name, weird eh?

Still, I'm quite amazed that PS is now so popular in Japan. funny stuff.

Wow, many things have changed. Now speed cubing and pen spinning are in the media. I bet some people might be commenting on how bored youths are getting these days.

It's a Japanese terminology. Can't recall the exact tricks involved, but it's related to ext TA and Fake Double. See:

Over in Singapore, we care about the deaf. The can't listen to the news, but they can still read and watch the videos.
Furthermore, Chinese people watch Chinese news.
    Bilingual ftw.

Edit: Oh yeah, can any Japanese please explain what is happening in the video? From what I can see, it looks like a pen spinning lesson.

this is a bit off-topic, but PSAJ is the official governing body of Pen Spinning in Japan. Any communication with the media is made through the PSAJ, JEB is merely a community in Japan.

Not surprising that I missed this...I don't watch the news lol.

But this isn't the first time they've reported it in the media here, about 3 years ago they showed the interview with a Taiwanese spinner (can't remember his name).
