Kay, soo I recently got an old lamp from a friend and it's good enough for me I guess, but the only problem is that it get too tooo hot.

This is what it looks like.

I put duct tape on it, so i can secure my webcam.
After like. 45 ish minutes, the metal part from the lap starts getting hot, then starts going through and melts a little bit of the tape, then starts falling off.
Anyone know how to fix this? :/

Oh. And how do people make their lamp less brighter? o-o Cause when I turn mine one, theres only 1 thing, it doesn't get brighter/darker. Anddd it's like, bright as hell. ._____________.; Anyone know how to make it less brighter by putting something..? Like paper i think? But I think it might burn up or something...D:

Soo yahhh. I need some help. Haha
    Thankss~

    Lololol, I'm not spending any money on another lamp. >_>;

@Wind, what kind of lightbulb? ohmy.gif
    This one's a 40 watt, i think,

Edit: Well, I would buy a new one, but 80 bucks is way too much.

Florescent? more expensive but it's brighter and saves more electricity...
40 watt is too much no wonder it's burning... o.o get around 27 watt to 32 watt.

Ive seen these bulbs where it stays cool, im not sure.

but if possible, try to get LED bulbs.
The lighting might (WILL, if im not wrong) be much different, but they dont heat up as quick.

Use a weaker light bulb if you really need to they go really small like idk how many wattages but it gets small.

and second off. I love lamp.

They are a lot more expensive but better for studying and for spinning . try to get "full spectrum" natural light lamps. you won't get the yellow nastiness of normal lamps, it's better for eyes, and a lot brighter

I'm curious, what's wrong with just turning the lights on in your room? is it like too bright or something?

ohmy.gif I think the lighting in my brother's room is pretty bright, but I'll have to get a webcam to see if it's enough =/
