god, that match was horrible for england
firstly, keeper screws up big time
then passing from england wasn't too flash either, and the defence could have been better

america on the other hand, had a solid defence, and some good attack

    horrible keeping by england....

You guys have to understand this too though: when something like that happens, you get one of the worst feelings in the world.
You feel so bad, and it's not even the feeling of embarrassment that gets to you, you just feel like dying or something lol

it's not fair that he started in world cup, he's a terrible keeper, but he's the best england has, it's their weakest point

it's like putting a highschool bball player starting center for the lakers in the finals, then everyone gets pissed when he sucks

If he had missed the second goal, he probably would've committed suicide.

right, it was a bad mistake by green, but that doesnt make him a bad keeper.
Hes quite good and obviously one of the best in england (that probably sounds really bad...) but everyone makes mistakes.

    1) we didnt even lose, it was a draw. It was one goal, people in england are overreacting
    2) he's still a good keeper
    3) we all make mistakes

also if a team loses, its always the keepers fault, and they hardly ever get any positive comments. Look at the goals he did save...

    good job green!

prince i'm sorry but that's blind patriotism if you can argue that he's a world-cup caliber keeper.

you guys didn't even know if you were going to start him until like a week before the match!

england is very strong in many fields, but keeping is where they're very weak

EDIT: also worth noting, keepers are RARELY blamed ... if a goal is score 99% of the time announcers, analysts, ect blame the defense, UNLESS it was a keeper mistake that was obvious

hmmm imo keepers are blamed alot and rarely get positive comments

and he let one goal in, hes had one match, we all have off days, give him a chance

I can't remember it exactly, but Howard got a lot of positive feedback, and some keepers were the man of the match..(nigeria's keeper, benaglio..etc)

...so much for South Africa, they're done.
