It all depends on the refresh time of your TV/Monitor.

Most large screen HDTV's carry a lag of 6ms +

If response time is what you're aiming for you'll need a TV/Monitor that has 2ms response or less .

Personally I use Monitors for gaming over HDTV's since you get EXACT resolution, not a stretched to fit density.

Regarding the VGA and HDMI on the same system with 2ms response.

VGA is quicker. It's a direct output dedicated to only video since audio is carried through a separate signal.

Right now I use an older 22" Samsung monitor with 2ms response time using the 360 VGA out plug.

I play Super SF4 with a joystick as well. I get no input lag using the VGA cable.

If you're using a PS3, you're SOL unless buying a custom vga out module which can get pretty spendy.

my tv claims to be 3ms( 2-4 i forget) but when playing on my ps3, i can definitely feel the drag. so wut ur saying is i should get a vga cable, and a thing that connects the vga to my ps3?

ya i have a monitor too which i use at my mom's house. its great. but i like being able to see small things*cough* campers *cough* and big tv's are just easier for me to use. i tried using the tv down stairs but that thing lags like a mofo. iv read about this "renaming HDMI2 to PC" trick. what i understand is that ur supposed to set hdmi2 to a pc port? idk i did that and didnt feel a difference.

ur monitor is either too small or thats a personal problem. ur alot farther from a TV than a monitor so in the end i think your field of vision is better with a monitor...

    tbh

have u ever played on a TV where you did NOT have any problems...

cuz every tv you played on had a problem... maybe the problem is you, psychological maybe? maybe you're not playing well and ur brain is subconsciously blaming something else other than ur skills

the only time i feel lags is when i play guitar hero on aother tv and im missing notes i know im not missing usually. but its really the game telling me its off, not my eyes
