It is with great sadness that the rest of the staff and I must announce the shutdown of UPSB v3, effective later this week. This forum has served us well, but a forum which is essentially a glorified chat does not justify increasing server costs. We hope UPSB v3 members will find another PS community to join.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention, we're also opening up a new board called UPSB v4 this week. It will have the same features as UPSB v3, but improved. For example, the shoutbox will have multiple channels. Threads are tagged to make it easier to search. Collabs and tutorials will be filterable by prefix.
It will also have new features, like Gallery where people can upload pictures and comment on them. Also the ability to create and manage tournaments.
UPSB v3 will be available as a read-only archive. You will have register a new account on UPSB v4 and request for your feedback, post count, premium, etc. to be moved over.
Use his opportunity to make "New Year resolutions". Think about what you need to improve to make the new forum better. -

I don't think PM's unless you manually do it, but you can just copy/paste everything over
It's starting from scratch, only thing that comes over is trade feedback and premium status -

upsb3 will be available. you will still be able to log in and send pm and whatever. but you wont be able to post anywhere. you should post your feedback on the new system.
you can make a straight copy-pasta of your about page to the new forum, it will work 100% -

u can have a big nice banner displayed in the group listings

oh strat i see, i like that, now pming is easier, theres a "general" SB for all the screwed up things people talk about in the SB, then theres the PS section for some normal talk

About the new Shoutbox having tabs and different windows, why dont you hotlink/external.... or that word [sorry my grammer has failed me today] like install a built in mebeam room.... you get what i mean? Like posting youtube vids that show up in posts but have like mebeam....

many people find mebeam horrible... also why would u use mebeam if ur just chatting and not camming.
also the advantage of an native shoutbox is that people dont need to register else where or log in.
in those external shoutbox what hapens is that you can take any nickname, even if its not ur forum's nickname. this is obviously wrong. -

Hmm, is there any way to create a native video sharing page/tab which would be another tab in the shoutbox?... So instead of mebeam, having the code for sharing video implemented into a tab of the shoutbox itself (or a separate page) but as apart of the board? Or is that like, as strat said to code intensive/laborious and unnecessary...

There is a way to embed MeBeam, but it will break the Shoutbox. Even if you didn't use MeBeam, the Shoutbox cannot correctly hold in the video stream. You will need a separate page altogether. If you guys really want this, maybe a separate page filled with links to the appropriate areas, such as a MeBeam channel dedicated for UPSB as well as the IRC client.
Being that you won't be able to keep it in the same confines as the Shoutbox, that means you will still need to open it up in a separate tab. In that case, you might as well open up the MeBeam page itself rather than integrating it at all. The good thing about Shoutbox is that it's constant even when you're browsing through the forums. You can't do that with video. Not to mention surfing will reset your connection to MeBeam every time if it were integrated. -

I first thought UPSB v3 was gonna get wiped out to nil, but I calmed down at the next posts.

I think it's can be as soon as thursday, as late as saturday.

because to prove its your account you have to log in in UPSBv3 and post in UPSBv3 to say what your username is in UPSBv4.
if you can login in UPSBv3 then it means its your account. -

Okay wait it's a little confusing. If I were to have 499 before UPSBv3 closes and I'm a PS-addict. If i request for my title at UPSBv4, do I need 1 post to get my personal title or do I have to work all the way up to 500 again??

Worrying about what member number you're getting is ridiculous anyway. There isn't even an explicit stating of what your number is, just like here. -
