Presentation / Visually Appealing Tricks!

  1. CalhounSpinner

So, I think anything with a Twisted Sonic looks bad ass.
Especially a TS with a flick of the wrist, or something.

    • Twisted Sonic 23-12 > Bak Rev
    • Devil's Sonic
    • Devil's Around

  2. Square
    Date: Mon, Dec 17 2007 23:27:50

The devil's sonic is definitely visually appealing.
When done right, the sonic and twisted sonic definitely look appealing as well.

My favorite thing to do to really catch someone's eye is a
    Devil's around > Devil's sonic > Extended TA > TA T1-34 > Shadow 34-23 > Devil's sonic

It's all flashy when looked at by a non pen spinner, and not too difficult either.

    EDIT

    Shadows too, can't forget them

    I got this from KinXiom:

    Twisted Sonic bust->shadow still->ext ta.

  4. Look Into the Sun

Spin tricks. Thumbspin + palmspin usually get wows. Oh, and aerial tricks! My girlfriend likes aerial tricks.

backaround seems to get good coments from people.

but I am new so I need to learn more tricks

  6. CalhounSpinner

    Anything with spin, really.
Ones that glide too like, Shadow 12-23.

  7. Square
    Date: Tue, Dec 18 2007 00:12:57

    A shadow 2.0 34-T1 always looks flashy.

  8. sketching
    Date: Tue, Dec 18 2007 00:24:51

Not too flashy, but I enjoy seeing Fingerless Thumbspins, performed like FL TAs.

    Yeah, my favorites are
    • NeoSonic 12-TF > FL TA Rev
    • Korean Backaround 12 ~ FL TA Rev

  10. Look Into the Sun
    Date: Tue, Dec 18 2007 01:33:07

I like watching other people spin. The ones in my class are pretty newbish, and spam double infinities and simple mini combos, but they're pleasing to watch anyhow.

  11. -JC-
    Date: Tue, Dec 18 2007 01:39:23

although i think that lots of finger movement attracts attention (i don't mean lots of pen rotations, but finger movement) i got some wows from sonic which requires very little finger movement, at least to the untrained eye biggrin.gif
cause my sonic 23>12 when using the thumb for pressure makes it seem like all i'm using is a twitch of the middle finger which would make the spin jump up a slot which some people find just completely amazing
(well this is when i'm showing them the trick, not like when someone's watchign me penspin through the corner of their eye)

and i find that harmonics get a lot of attention too happy.gif

    gahh...that's basically me that you're describing ohmy.gif
what does "spam" double infinities mean though huh.gif

Spamming, in general in pen spinning, just means doing a lot of the same tricks, instead of varying between others. Too much repetition.

I know a big one is the sonic fall/rise harmonic.
It looks okay, but not x100.

well i'd do that in class, but not to show off or anything, just cause my hand needs to spin a pen and anythign else other than that or the other fundamentals i feel will just be to flashy (which i sometimes do anyway, but you know, when i'm in the middle of a math problem, i don't think about what trick to do, i just do a sonic harmonic or something)

To me, I think visually appealing tricks would be ones likes...

    Sonic clip
    Inverse Sonic
    Neo sonic 24-T2
    Index around 13-12

Not really sure how you're meant to describe those types of tricks.

Also things like Inverse Sonic 23-12 ~> Pass 13-34 --> Twisted Sonic Bust 34-23 are quite nice to watch.

Something like a bball spin or a spider spin or palm spin... looks cool because it got an unusual look...

What isnt cool is something like backfall or neosonic 12-t1 charge fl ta rv, passcharge comboes... you have seen it all before and even though there are variations it all looks the same anyways...

  35. Merkuury

A very smooth FingerPass or its reverse.
    FL TA > FL TS
Around Harmonics, especially when people throw MA Harmonics in the middle of combos tongue.gif

I also agree with Simån, on his every point smile.gif

U cant just do some tricks to impress. its really more than that. u gotta have a good smooth, a good combo, things like that u know.
'm not the greatest pen spinner ever, but i know some little things that may can help
if u do twisted sonic > figure 8, looks great, specially for noobs that dont know lots of tricks, like me mellow.gif
but if u know lots and lots of tricks, train ur smooth, and then u'll be good tongue.gif
some tricks that looks good: double charge, twisted sonic, bakfall, sonic and variations.

    Shadow 12-T1

here's some i like to do:
palm down inverse sonic to palm sideways thumbaround
charge > sonic clip > charge and the tipped and reverse variations
palm down twisted sonic > figure 8 T1-T4 > pass rev T4-T1-12 with the pen ending in writing position
basically i like most minicombos that are palm down to palm sideways

here's one i've seen that i think is really nice:
cont. TA >3x into TA release >3x caught in writing position

    to non pencil spinners...
as long as u keep it going things like Sonic Rise/Fall harmonic or TA harmonic will look nice... and then if u can transition like a charge 23 into a TA

to people that i know that are new at pencil spinning...
backaround looks nice cause its "fingerless" and well if u have the indexaround
then u can do this hybrid idk if its named...
    infinity into an indexaround

idk im not all that much into more advanced trick since im still kinda new... i just combo everything and it looks nice... just gotta find where u can transition =D
