General Discussion / when did you start spinning with your non-master hand?

I have seen videos that have involve in tricks like 1p2h, 2p2h.
So today I don't know what had inspired me to try spinning with my left had, I am right handed btw.
I can do some of the fundamentals like charge, Thumb around, Thumb around reverse, and can barely do a sonic.

I have been spinning for 3mths, still trying to expand my trick list. Now, I am wondering when should I start spinning with my left hand.
So, I was wondering when you people started to spin with your non-master hand and hope to get some suggestions or ideals on when to start from you guys...

    * I don't know this should put under hand care or general discussion. Moderators, if you all feel that I had put this in the wrong section, feel free to move this to the right one, thanks.

I really don't like it when people make penspinning this really textbook, tehcnical sport kind of thing.

there are no real rules to follow, no real tricks you HAVE to learn.

for spinning on your non dominant hand...just don't force it.

some day, after you have become a much better spinner, you will subconsciously pick up the pen with your left hand and do a shitty ta harmonic. SOMEDAY, maybe while on the computer, watching tv, etc.

since your right hand has this trick mastered (assuming you are a somewhat decent spinner) you should be able to pick this up within MINUTES.

my suggestion to you? Just wait a bit longer. I don't think 3 months is enough, unless everything is coming naturally without practice. Anyways, practicing with your non dominant hand is sort of silly in my opinion. Time is much better used perfecting your dominant hand, since learning speed with your non dominant hand is nearly completely dependent on the skill of your dominant hand.

I pretty much agree with toast.

If you can't do it every time with your dominant hand, you've got pretty much no chance of doing it with your non-dominant hand. Once you get a feel for the trick though, and "master" it, then your non-dominant hand has somewhat of a shot.

Unless you're ambidextrous, then I hate you. laugh.gif

about 3 months here, and i tryed spinning with my non-dominant hand wen i made my first mod. I seemed to get tricks faster with my right hand, so i concentrated on my right hand, by the second month, i was getting a few combos, and i tryed to learn them with my left hand. suprisingly, i could do it with only a few mistakes. wenever i try to learn a trick that my right hand already can do, i can get it down in a matter of minutes. so, i think u should start spinning with your "non-master hand" whenever u feel like it. you'll eventually master most of the tricks u know already pretty quickly

    Word. xD
I can barely do anything with my left hand. I just use it to hold stuff.
The TA and Sonic are so hard to do! XD

At about 2 months i attempted to do stuff with my left hand, and even now i can only do stuff like ta, sonic, sonic reverse
but i'm not really a big fan of 2 handed stuff so i dont' think i'll give it too much effort

I do agree with you, I can do some fundamentals without practicing, it just comes naturally. Think I will get rid of the thought of spinning with my left hand first.

    Day 1.

Is day 1 too soon? Should you wait? I think that the earlier you start using both hands, the better, however, if you have already learnt something on your non-master hand, then you will learn it very quickly on the other hand, so, I suggest that whatever tricks you want to learn, learn them in your master hand first before your weaker hand.

I feel that, once you have learnt a few tricks (I guess the amount of tricks varies greatly) on your weaker hand, this no longer applies.

My non-dominant hand is better than my dominant now.

I'm right handed but have been spinning with both hands since day 1 too. I think my left hand is better than my right hand too, since I spin while using the mouse haha.

i dunno when i started to spin with my non master hand(left hand). when i just got bored spinning with my right hand, i use my left one.
i was so surprised when i can spin ta, ta rev with my left hand on my first try, then i started learning sonic, inverse sonic, twisted sonic, twisted sonic bust, infinity and neosonic > fl ta rev...

i like it when i spin 2h2p the same trick. like ur left hand is your right hand's mirror and vice versa... laugh.gif

It's been almost three months now, so I'm thinking about spinning ONLY with my left hand and watching Eso's tutorials again. D:

I use my right (dominant) hand to scroll up and down on computer so i find myself doing ta's and sonics with left hand. I tried a shadow with left once and it worked.

Im right handed but I start with my left until I can do one perfect, since eso uses left hand, then I switch to my right.
