Regular Pen Discussion / Bic Round Stic is slippery

I just made it after only been using the RSVP V1. The middle white part of the bic pens feel so slippery to me. Is that something common? I put a grip in the middle and the helped, until I tried doing a thumb around reverse, then saw that the grip hinders the user from scratching it.

The plastic of the BIC Round Stic is known to be rather slippery, that's just how the plastic is.
Title changed so that the thread still fits in this forum. -

^yes but
if you use it for a long time
(maybe a week, a month, don't remember it was awhile ago)
the texture gradually becomes more and more manageable, to the point where it is better then the body of an RSVP. (IMO) -

Take a fine grain of sandpaper and go over the barrel if you want. It gives it a little bit more of a roughness to it, just enough to counteract the slippery effect of the bic barrel a bit.
Just don't sand it into nothing... a light grazing usually does the trick. -

^Huh?
i've always found bic barrel textures to be too dry, not literally too slippery
the dry feeling gives it a "slippery" effect.
if anything, wetting it slightly, then dabbing it with like a thick towel would give you the effect.
how the bic barrel becomes more moist after a few days? no idea, but i think its just that its been around your hands so much, and some of the oil from your hands seep in -

I sand bic barrels to make them a bit grainy, therefor less slippery.
