I was wondering, Would it matter on what types of pens you use to get use to trying new things? I have my pen that I use for school and seem to do the finger change good, but slow >.< , and was wondering would like a longer pen make a difference? This pen is kind of small.

If the pen you are using feels comfortable in your hands, go with that. You don't need anything special to start with, the pen mods just make things easier.

Seems hard to do things, and when I try to speed up the things I can do. I drop it =( plus if I do it for entertainment I don't want to distract others.

Get a pentel rsvp to use (should be easy to find in US)
you can take the cap off and put it on the back. Unfortunately if you drop the ink may get on clothes or hands, so take a hammer and nail, or drill, and make a hole in the little back cap that unscrews off the rsvp. then take out the ink tube, turn it around so the ink protrudes from the hole in the back cap, and put the pen back together. Then put the rsvp Front cap on the back of the pen so it covers the ink.
This is not balanced but is an ok normal pen to spin, like to spin in school without attracting attention from people if you dont want. -

I learned the TA with a short, stubby, mechanical pencil

I learned the fundementals before I even knew pens could be modded.
And I had no access to RSVPs, I spun with any pen that I could find.
So...it doesnt really matter until later on -

also, if you practice with crappy pens, once you get tricks looking decent try it with a balanced pen with lots of momentum, feels sooooo good.

Yeah, i started with random pens in school and learned the basic tricks from a classmate in highschool. But it really does make a difference with a nicely balanced pen
