I dunno, I get red & black ones all the time, but the red ones slip off like a sock... -

why'd u make a topic just for this? lawl
-
Date: Mon, Dec 31 2007 05:15:11
I guessing that if anything, black ink pens would get much more use than other colors. If the black HGG grips are always harder to get off, it could be because the glue used for them might just be stronger than for other colors that would be assumed to have less writing use.

Strange, my black HGGs slip right off. It's usually the other colours I have problems with.

does it matter?
-
Date: Mon, Dec 31 2007 09:38:41
Eh, get a paperclip, straighten it out but leave one small hook thing to grab onto and shove the paperclip under the grip to break the glue. Then use a towel to pull it off.

Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 03:38:11
Just write with it for a week, and it'll be easier to remove. Although I doubt you have the patience to wait for a week.

-
Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 14:02:50
Hmm my black HGG Grips are as easy as other HGG Grip to remove Oo It seems to me like the silver grips are the easiest to remove xD
-
Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 16:44:49
for me all hgg grips are hard to get off
for example i have a red hgg that i got about a month ago
i still have to get the grip off -
Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 17:03:06
Took me awhile to figure it out, but get some boiling water and soak it in it for like 10 seconds and pull it off with a towel.

W-wait! White!?! Where do you get those? I've been looking everywhere for them, and i still can't find any -
Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 21:44:50
Can find white everywhere... Just pm to the german freak.
By the way, it depends on where they have been produced, german HGGs are glued, all imported one's are not, as far as my experiences go.
So it's ot a question of the colour, but where they have been produced originally. -
Date: Tue, Jan 1 2008 22:15:51
I never have trouble removing any HGG grips. I just use my nails with the pen on my chest and its slides right off

well i use up most of the ink in teh hgg before modding it cause it's such a waste to not use the gel inkQUOTE (PSingvideogamer @ Jan 1 2008, 12:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>W-wait! White!?! Where do you get those? I've been looking everywhere for them, and i still can't find any

are the hggs that is hard to get off shorter than the ones thats easier to get off? cause my black was hard to get off and its like 0.5cm shorter than the other ones i have..
-
Date: Wed, Jan 23 2008 17:22:23
Different hggs from different countries determine difficulty in getting it out.

I struggled with a white hgg grip for an hour, then i pulled a greep hgg's grip in one try
-
Date: Fri, Feb 1 2008 01:15:38
guys just dip it in some hot water for a while and it should be pretty easy to get out...
-
Date: Tue, Feb 5 2008 04:19:53
I pour some boiling water in a bowl then put in the hgg(with ink tube removed ofcourse) - leave it for 5mins then use a towel to pull off the grip.
-
Date: Mon, Feb 25 2008 03:20:51
my first hggs were black ones..i couldn't pull them off no matter how hard i tried at first
i tried boiling it in hot water ..yeha it didnt come off
the only way taht worked for me was to straighten a paper clip and just keep trying to pry it under the grip
then just go around the barrel and loosen the glue
then try pulling and it should come off.. -

Anyone tried soaking the grip part in oil? I was thinking oil from the skin sips through the grip anyway... this might be the reason grips from used pens come off more easily.
-
Date: Tue, Feb 26 2008 09:09:34
but doesnt the oil harden the plastic? well thats wat my dad said

my tips for HGG management:
1. always have at least 1-3 complete hgg's, or sunbursts for that matter, to use the ink. really, these are good pens and its a pity not to use them. as i was saying, keep 1-3 bodies to use, and you can always exchange the ink with the other hgg's you used.
2. for easy grip removal, break the body. you always keep 1-3 bodies anyway to use the ink with, and without the grip you wont use the bodies too.
3. if you want to keep it in one piece, my best method is to insert something like a pin (careful not to make holes in the grip) and spin it around, each time pushing it deeper and deeper. you can then pull the grip with some force -

are white HGG grips (white HGGs) only made in Germany?
i hope you can get the other colors in the U.S. -

There are no HGGs in the U.S. unless you get really lucky and a dollar store in your area sells them. Otherwise you have to trade with someone from Germany or buy some online. -

Hybrid gel grip DX grips are also hard to get off
-
Date: Mon, Mar 17 2008 01:34:42
Yeah i noticed this too, but thankfully I have a foolproof way to get grips of.
1. Shove a straightened paper clip under the grip.
2. Circle it around the grip to loosen the glue.
3. Run under hot water while repeating step 2.
4. Dry only the outside of the pen with a towel and immediatly after pull of the grip with it.
5. Yay!
yeah.. hope it helps -

it so easy for me ...just a 3 second pull and it flies off with me hitting my hand on the desk but thats it ...
is something wrong with the HGG's in the world except the ones i use?? -

i know. the first time i got an hgg i was like "this should be like an rsvp" Then I was like WTF THIS IS LIKE A G2"
put it in some hot water for a few minutes, and it should come off easy enough.
dont pick at it if you have long fingernails or youll probably rip it
-
Date: Mon, Apr 28 2008 06:22:00
i've bought tons of white HGG's like 50+ or dunno....none of them were easy to remove. i had to break the front part just to get the grip.
-
Date: Mon, Apr 28 2008 07:23:30
Why don't you use hot water? Put the HGG in and the Grip is easy to remove..
-
