UPSB v3
Team Dump / Lineup Round 1
-
Date: Sat, Jan 19 2008 20:14:28
So you all heard the podcast (probably):
--> Group 1:
PserHome
GPC
ThaiSpinner
JEB
UPSB
Group 2:
SweSpin
PPP
PZ/KCF
KPSA
FPSB
I see JEB as the biggest threat, followed by ThaiSpinner, then Pserhome and GPC.
With toast out of the lineup for round 1, I'm thinking of using this lineup:
Eriror -> JEB
TNC -> ThaiSpinner
Scott Shaputis -> GPC
Vicgotgame -> PSerhome.
What do you think? Then I'll use toast and DaThroat in round 2. -

Oh yeah, sure. I hope my efforts are enough, though. JEB will surely see us as the biggest threat as well --> Ayatori / Key3.
But let's do this! -

That's OK

Let me see....ThaiSpinner .... I think they will send DongZa for JEB.... so the rest of their team are not scared as much as him... , except Mez... Then I --> ThaiSpinner is OK...

Looks OK to me.

I think they want to send mez against JEB and dongza against us (you), but I trust you, you can beat Dongza -

Here's who I think we'll be facing against.
I think that except from JEB, the 3 other teams will be looking at 2 kind of strategies:
1) Concede the win to JEB, in which case they will focus their attacks on us to try and grab "our" spot in the top 2. Then they'll send their ace (Best player).
2) Play "normally" and sends us their second best player.
So according to this logic, here's what they're gonna send us.
PSerhome:
I don't really know them... IceMT i guess?
GPC:
McDudelSaeck, Alucard, maybe Le0n, Stuhl.
ThaiSpinner:
Dongza or Mez
JEB:
Ayatori or Key3. -

this is what Sathon wrote on the Thaispinner forum:
Pserhome - Dongza
GPC - Mez
JEB - Golfzabemix
UPSB - Longhorn
of course it may not be true at all. Maybe he wrote it to mislead me as well.
But if that lineup is true, then there's no way I'm sending TNC against THPSC, I'd rather use him against a stronger opponent like PSerHome.
It does seem like a bluff to me because longhorn is their weakest player... -

i think Eriror can defeat any JEB member he might face.
TNC or Vic can defeat anyone from the remaining teams..... i think.. except maybe Dongza.
Scott.... i don't mean to be mean or anything, but your skill can go from ultimate rape to just normal stuff sometimes, realistically speaking.
but i'm sure for this world cup you'll produce a great video.
So i think the lineup suggested should be ok. -

Don't worry.
I'm going to produce as good as a video as I possibly can.
I filmed for about 3 hours last night.
Didn't get anything up to par.
So yeah...
I'm trying to get it filmed early too so I can input from all you guys here. -

vic, from what I gather, you'll be fighting 星辰裂 from PSerhome,
anybody knows this guy? -
Date: Wed, Jan 23 2008 01:12:35
He's in the "On The Way" collab. He doesnt look that threatening.
-

YEah, sorry guys, i've been really busy with exams and culminatings, but by next week i'll be free again.
If you guys want some of my input...
I mentioned this with Eso some time ago, or was it Eriror? Anyways, people tend to pit their best player to the best possible team.
this is not always the wisest decision...
Sometimes it would be clever, just to play a psychological trick, to purposely use a weaker player against a stronger team, therefore "wasting" the stronger teams abilities, while solidifying a win for another battle. (since you have a stronger player competing there)
However, I'm not very sure this type of strategy would work for this tournament's layout. I had a reception to go to at the time of the podcast, so could not hear the way this tournament works. I'll be sure to catch up within the next week. For now, I have to get back to my homework, sorry. -
Date: Wed, Jan 23 2008 06:46:03
That wouldn't work, as JEB would get the full points for sure, then.
-
Date: Wed, Jan 23 2008 12:53:32
this does not really apply to us,
but the teams who are weaker will probably already concede the first place to JEB. That means the only way they can get in the semi-final is to take the #2 spot. This is only possible if they attack us with their best players to make us lose. -

lol seems like the recon info i got was all wrong, oh well!
good luck golzabemix for TNC and 12ve for vic then!
