so i was just thinking about how in physics, my teacher was telling us that if you take a raw egg and a hard boiled egg, you can tell whether or not the raw egg is raw with a little test
if you take the raw egg and put it on a table and you spin it, and then stop it with your finger for a second, and then you release your finger, the egg will continue spinning after you release cause of the liquid that's still spinning inside of it

so i was thiking, can you do the same with a pen
like fill a pen with some liquid inside (not all the way though) and then spin with it, and then stop it and then have it magically start spinning on its own again

this might take some time to get used to since we're so used to spinnign with balanced pens, but it'll have a nice effect happy.gif

Crazy idea I think I'm gonna try it.

yup, i have lots of crazy ideas happy.gif
i have anotehr one too...but i don't think i'll propose that since i just posted this one
    too...mind boggling wink.gif

If this works, then the Charge would live up to its name.

Just Charge your water pen up, drop it, and watch it spin!

ryuu ohmy.gif you could charge, put the pen down, and watch it spin again
    nicceee xDD

but i have no idea how wierd the pen would feel having the water in it just spinning around wacko.gif

The shifting COP would be quite annoying.

Since the pen is not a sphere, or close to it, the water inside would not continue spinning in the same way as in an egg. As the weight shifts, the pen would just lurch in one direction. Doesn't seem so useful, IMO.

If you paid attention in physics you might understand why this wont apply to pen spinning tongue.gif

Yea at what Sketching was saying, you have to understand the physics of the egg itself. Its the Spherical/Oblongish/Egg shape that allows it to store the energy. And if this were to work you would have to do it with more of a palm spinning motion where you actually start the spin with your opposite hand then, well you know stop it then watch it spin. But going back to the actual shape itself I think that the cylindrical shape doesn't allow the pen to store the energy properly. Then there is one more factor that comes in. Its the Yolk that allows it to keep spinning. While the Yolk is suspended in the albumen[?] (but you know what I'm talking about right?) it shifts to the one side because of centrifugal force and with out going into a whole physics lesson basically you would need something to replace and act like said yolk. So you would have to do it with something other than water. So thats my two cents.

i tried this my friend lefted his pen in the washing machine and theres like water in it i tried spinning it and like sketching said the shifting COP was annoying angry.gif

One question for -JC-, why don't you try it before posting?

yah, iknow that the cog would constantly shift so that's why i said it may take some adapting and getting used to >.<''

and i couldn't try it cause i dont' really have anything to try it with...
i would try it with my rsvp and just stick some putty on the open end, but i don't really have that sleep.gif''
and i can't really get out of the house either

but i didn't wanna lose the idea and so i decided to post it
hmm...maybe i should've probably just written it down... nah, i probably would've lost that xD

Lol, my friend thought of this idea along time ago. He tried to use sand and water.

I had something like this. I took out of my own mod ink ''thingy'' and filled with colerful water and some really small items. It was cool how those lil' shits looked when you shake it, but mod turned into shit - very heavy (heavier then Dr KT) and balance was worst.

Hmm, I wonder how much heavier it is compared to a real MX.

no ._. he simply made a hole in his pen and attached it to a mini portable fan

Nate from the old UPSB used to make pen mods with fluids in it.

What your teacher didn't say is that the raw egg will actually stop spinning earlier than a hard boiled egg. That is, in fact, another way to test if the egg is cooked or raw.
Now, if you apply that into pen spinning...
