ok guys I will be writing a pen spinning article based on these responses. so I thank you in advance for taking the time to help me out.

    ok questions)
1)can anyone have to many mods?
2)some people can get to obsessed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?
    3)there is a delicate balance?
4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?
5)what about going mod-less and just using normal pens?

I know what I think. but I want to hear from everyone else.

    you mean mod aBUSIVE?

my god... so hard to understand what you're saying.

I hope your article is not riddled with poor spelling like this thread...

Im pretty sure he meant obsessive, but even then the term "mod obsessive?" would hardly work, something like "Addicted to modding?" would be more suitable, anyhow...
I think for me i have a bit over 10 mods and spin around 4 or 5, mainly because some of the mods i have "outgrown" so to speak. For example, I don't use my old Ballsign mod as i have a new one that spins better and looks nicer. I always like to have one lightweight, (ballsign), one heavy weight (my zig mod), and 2 middleweights (comssa and MX)

I have about 60+ mods, and I try to use all of them. I take out five every week and just I spin them, then repeat.

I have many mods, but I use only 2 of them.
And you really need to improve your English lol.

    2) Don't think so. Abscesses are formed by tissue disintegration, and I don't think mods can cause that. But yeah I can see how that'd prevent one from spinning.

1)can anyone have to many mods?
I think if you enjoy making mods, not just for spinning, but for the 'artistic-ness' then no. I don't think you can have too many mods, as you keep coming up with new designs/colours.

2)some people can get to absesed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?
Same as before, it depends whether you're into penspinning to develop intricate combos or just in it for the 'fashion' lol.

    3)there is a delicate balence?'
To those dedicated to penspinning itself I believe you shouldn't concentrate on making mods more than learning tricks.

4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?
Some pens are better for different moves, I have one pen I feel more comfortable doing infinities and aerials with, and then I have my MX which I use for combos. Then I have some other mods which I don't mind losing if I take to uni and leave it somewhere. I don't necessarily think it's better to have more, but it's also good to have a mix.

5)what about going modless and just using normal pens?
After using modded pens I can hardly spin normal pens now, so for me, anyone who can spin well using an unmodded pen is a god. Haha.

Changed the title to something that's easier to understand.

    1. Not if the person has too many DIFFERENT pen mods, that just means that the person is experimenting with a lot of different feeling mods and gaining experience. Can you have too many of THE SAME mod? Yeah, there's no need to have 20 different color variations of the same pen mod.

    2. If you aren't pen spinning, what's the point?

    3. You should make pen mods for pen spinning, I don't see anything that needs to be balanced.

    4. Unless you already have the perfect pen (mod), you may as well try out as many different pens as you can. The more experience you have with anything, the better and more likely that you'll find the perfect pen for you.

    5. That's all up to you, if you are completely comfortable with what you have, keep it.

1)can anyone have to many mods?
Yes. I don't see why you need more than two of any mod you have. I think it's best to stick to one or two mods because you get used to them.

2)some people can get to obsessed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?
    Phail.

    3)there is a delicate balance?
    Not really delicate confusedsmilie.gif

4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?
    One or two imo.

5)what about going modless and just using normal pens?
Normal pens are the best pens! I wish more people would spin normal pens.

(lol I'm the only one on the poll who voted 'I go unmodded')

1)can anyone have to many mods?
If it's the same mod all over and over again, I guess it would be too many, unless you're not always using the same insert/grips/pen mod etc.

2)some people can get to absesed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?
Even if that is true, I guess it doesn't really matter since pen modding is more of their thing than pen spinning.

    3)there is a delicate balence?'
Not enough info with that question, but... I don't think you can really compare pen spinning and mods that well. Like.... comparing temperature with weight. Comparing modding time with spinning time maybe?

4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?
I think it's best to use mainly one mod or something, 'cause that way you get used to it and if you find out it's not good for your style like... Finding it difficult to use infinities with an MX, then you could always move onto something else. Having to relearn tricks with every new pen you make gets annoying though.

5)what about going modless and just using normal pens?
P-p-p-pro, Aysh =P. No answer really.

1)can anyone have to many mods?
Here I agree with sketching. Different mods are ok as long as they aren't all crap-mods wrapped with tape etc. I also tried many different mods and now I have the 3 mods which realy fit me.

2)some people can get to obsessed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?
I did this during ~4th to ~8th month of spinning tongue.gif . I was more in trading and making pen mods than spinning.

3)is there a balanced point between modding and spinning? (?)
I think you'll get to this point when you've found THE pen(s) for you. Than you'll maybe trade sometimes when a new mod was found but all in all you won't spend much money no longer.

4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?
More; you have to find the pen which fits you the most. I didn't enjoy spinning my pens for a long time and as a result I didn't spin very much. Now I found them and I caught myself last week walking spinning through my school tongue.gif .

5)what about going modless and just using normal pens?
    Blasphemy.

Using normal pens is fine IMO.
But what do u mean by "use" in 1 of the questions?
Do u mean use as in spin alot, or use as in taking to school/writing stuff with it.

    1) yes. i don't get what's the point in having 50+ mods, and if most of them is the same mod only colour variations confusedsmilie.gif
    2) pen modding is a part of pen spinning art/culture. so if you mod pens, you're still doing it for spinning, or tradin.
    3) what balance? you mod -> you spin.
    4) best is to try more mods, and choose which one suits you best.
    5) no.

1)can anyone have too many mods?

Nope, but most end up filtering the air, allowing dust particles to attach themselves.

2)some people can get to obsessed with mods and end up not working enough on penspining. Comments?

Lol that's true. I don't really work much on pen spinning if you have noticed my few mediocre videos, but that's not because I'm obsessed with pen modding. I only have the drive to mod when I come up with a good idea, if not there's really not much point.

    3)there is a delicate balence?

I doubt so. It all depends on what you prefer. But of course I'll say it's ok to have 0% modding knowledge and 100% pen spinning skills as opposed to the opposite. After all, this hobby is called pen spinning, not modding. Where's the real satisfaction if you mod but can't spin.

4)can it be better to have only one mod or better to have more?

Doesn't matter as most will stick to their favourite. There's no harm having a collection.

5)what about going modless and just using normal pens?

Most would wanna try out a mod in the end. Even if one uses an unmodified pen, most likely it's close to a mod in terms of it's characteristics such that it's more inclined for spinning.

DA! Where have you been the last few months? smile.gif

    1) Ofcourse there can always be "too" much, seeing how one would be able to have a couple of thousand mods. I don't see that happening though, so no one can't really have too many.

    2) They can keep to modding then, if they think that's the more fun part of penspinning.

    4) Atleast a couple of mods is always better than just one.

    5) Worthless. Rather stick to pens that spin quite good, but are somewhat modded and still look like regular pens.
