-

Most people use cam-corder/webcam/digital camera for filming. Does anyone use a camera phone for spinning?

Yeap, me!!!
I did try to record with my phone. But the quality is not that good. So I didn't upload it anywhere... -

Trust me, it's not worth it. The quality just sucks.

I havent seen a camera-phone that has decent video for PS... yet.
But DV Camcorders are the best and then its webcams. -

Digital cameras with neat filming function > webcams.
I've seen some phones with atleast decent filming functions. A + with using a phone to film would be that it's easy to put up somewhere. -

most camera phones have only a 2.0 megapixel camera at most, so it's never gonna be that great...
my dad has a 5.0 megapixel camera 0.0 that could possibly be good for recording
but in general, phones shouldnt' even bothered to be used for spinning -

Most of the time, you can't even see the pen.
It's a blur due to poor quality. -

the quality on my phone is pretty good 3.2 megapixels its the framrate/fps that ruins it mine is 30 fps when its not recording but when i start to record it becomes 15 fps.

for the people who never seen a decent camera phone for spining:
(just some random video i made 2 seconds ago..)
its not the best quality my phone can get to.. i forgot to change the format thing. and now i can't be bothered to do it again.
EDIT: hmm..somehow the image is fucked but press play and it'll still work.. -

I did use my camera phone for filming my combo that I later turned in for the Girl's Collab. The quality sucked, but that might just be my camera. The quality of WhiteFang's camera phone seems to be okay.

phones are phail
simple as that
other than sheer convenience, a conventional camcorder/webcam is better in every aspect -

My cell phone model is Nokia 5200,which only has 0.3 megapixels...
Lol,when I try to film my spinnings with my phone, the pen is like, disappears, cause it's just too blurry. -

For me, i don't want to dump a whole lot of money into an expensive phone JUST because it has a camera. Sure it's mobile but i'll take quality any day.

Camera/Camcorder>Webcam>Cellphone
You should never have to use anything besides the first two to film unless for some reason you don`t have them; I doubt that though as most people have at least a camera or their parents do.
Suppose you did have all 3 though; why would you choose the cellphone over the others? The quality will never come close.
Lets say you only had access to your phone at the moment; why would you have a spinnable pen with you while you`re going out somewhere unless you`re on vacation? I don`t see a reason why you`d even need to film=p. I have tried filming things with my phone before and it`s really hard and crappy>__<. The fps isn`t good enough for pen spinning in my opinion plus your batteries die completely=P. -

I use my Juke (super small switchblade phone) for actual spinning sometimes. Like, I do fingerpasses with it and simple stuff. xD
But as a webcam, I haven't tried it. -

can't you go to settings and change how long you can record for?
