Tutorial
Materials- 1 G3
- 1 HGG grip
- some Profile grips
- clear tape
- metal file or sandpaper
- sharp pointed tool for poking
Steps
1. Take out the ink tube from the G3. Poke out the back plug. I use a RSVP ink tube to poke it out. Comes out quite easily, surprisingly.
2. Poke a hole in the middle of the back plug. I use a sharp, pointed tool that's cylindrical. The back plug is very soft and very easy to penetrate, surprisingly.
3. Reverse the G3 ink tube and push the tip through the back plug. Place the ink + back plug back onto barrel.
4. Remove the clip from the G3 cap. The clip is rather stuck hard onto the cap. Use some force.
5. Sand/file down the plastic nub that held the clip onto the cap. I used scissors first to cut off most of the nub, then sand/file it down
6. Take the HGG grip and place it inside the G3 cap.
7. Wrap some clear tape around the back of the G3 barrel, near the back plug. This is for the G3 cap to hold onto better.
8. Cut some Profile grips of your color choice and place them on the cap and the grip/metal tip of the G3.

Instead of clicking on yet one more link, I typed out the instructions here. Pictures are also up, thanks to GPC's very articulate and immaculate tutorials. <3
The G3 MX is only around 17-18 cm long so it's very short compared to the RSVP MX. The weight, including the ink tube, insert, and Profile grips, still feels a little too light for me. The barrel's circumference feels larger than the RSVP's, so that also takes some getting used to. I really like the streamlined look of this and that it only takes a maximum of 3 pens to make. My usual MXs take 4 pens so this was a very refreshing pen to make. I highly recommend this mod for beginners, even before the MX! -

How heavy is it compared to an MX? Is it a lot heavier?

i kinda like HG2G3 more than G3 MX, but yes... this mod is quite cheap.
G3 MX is a bit heavier but shorter than a regular RSVP MX -

Done it! Nice and its cool! I absolutely LOVE it!! The spinability of this mod is ok as i prefer thick barrels for sonic rise fall harmonic and all those...

i like it very much.
it is currently one of my favourite mods other than RSVP-MX.
so RSVP-MX is lighter and longer than G3-MX?
i'll do it once i get my hands on anyballs and HGG. -
