Pentel p207 works as well (same but just 0.7mm version)

It was called a Pentel Sharp MP when I bought it at my school's bookstore.

The p209, p207 and p205 line are all the same design, just different lead.

if i remember correctly, TEK said that if the mp mechanism fits in the comssa barrel, then it should be fine.

Searching trough Staples, I found this nice mechanical pencil. I don't really remember the name, but it begun with letter "M"; it was probably Matrix or something like that. It was just identical replica of Pentel Sharp (Jedo); tip was metal, mechanism was identical, I did not find any differences except price. Pentel Sharp costs about 3-4$ each, and replica made by Staples costs only 1-2$. biggrin.gif

This isn't a replacement, but I saw this at Wal*Mart and instead of lead, it dispenses liquid graphite. The body looks very similar to the 205 and Jedo.

Alright, in the midst of my usual scanning of the entire pen/pencil isle as i was picking up some rsvp, some pencils caught my eye.

They are literally exactly the same as P205/P207. The mechanism is almost the same and the metal tips are exactly the same. Metal tips are interchangeable between the sub and the real thing.

The biggest difference here is that P205/P207 cost $6 each here in Canada but this substitute only costs about $1.60 each.

...So you're probably wondering what pencils these are...they are Staple-brand pencils called Metrix

    Comparison pictures:
(P207 is on the right side of the picture)

(P207 is on the bottom of the picture)

    (tips are the same happy.gif)

This is pretty much godly information for me. Ive been hesitating to buy a pentel sharp because id have to spend almost $10 for two pencils at staples, and i really cant rationalize that (Thats also the reason i still don't have dr. grip tips). Much gratitude. I'm gonna try to pick some up tomorrow, I'm pretty sure I've seen them before in staples as well but i can't be sure.

@ K4S - Those seem to be the ones that Skeleton mentioned earlier. Nice and cheap! I like that! tongue.gif

since my p205 is missing a tip, i looked around and found that I had a p217. It looks pretty similar to the p205.
