I'm surprised that most teams have opted to play the first round subs this turn. I suppose it's nice gesture to let every spinner participate at least once. I'm not critcizing the teams who didn't do it though, it's not obligatory and you have the right to retain the same spinners.
I think our matchups are decent. Dongza vs Chautran is gonna be tough, so I expect a huge performance from chautran.
As expected, KPSA is going all out this turn with the big guns. Expect them to be on a mission this turn! -

In the 21- 22 sec. You will see the shape of fabric is change immediatly.It's going up and then change the position to rest without falling down. How was it happened if not EDITING. It can't happend in this world because it not follow the newton law in physic!

Oh but why would he make a new video? All he will do is film how he's sitting when he spins, showing that his leg hitting the table might have caused some disturbance in the fabric.

A limit is a limit, a maximum, not a target to aim for. If you are caught driving on the road at 1mph over the speed limit, you will still be fined. If you cannot pay a bill by £1, you will still have consequences. Just because someone is not much over the limit does not mean it should go without punishment.

Just some information, a lot of the videos in round one were also over 25 seconds. Wheter or not the combos themselves were longer, I don't know. I think we should restrict this more though, just read Mats post.

25 is a limit but sometimes rounding occurs and sometimes ppl leave some "silence" in the video that can be cut so...
sorry but I didn't say that ChauTran is goign to refilm his combo. I said he's going to film HOW HE films. He's gonna make a film to show the table he's filming with, and the fact that his knees are touching the table when he films. -

hmm from what i see is that after he did his last trick the time changed to 26 so i think it is like 25.5 total and the delay of starting to combo
in the beginning about .5 so total of 25 which is fine for the maximum time.
P.s I think Nory lost T.T even if we win the other 3 we won't have chance to go to next round T.T -

Round 2 is a lot tougher to decide than Round 1. I think Nory's combo is more difficult than s777's, but I think Nory's combo is less smooth. He gets choppy 4 times while s777 stays smooth.

this was the original combo that i was going to send it but.... crash told them videos were going to late even though it
was not at the time so Nory or KTH sent the videos with out telling me

i asked zombo right away about changing the video but i found out that
Nory changed the video to the other one because he thought other one was better so I just went with this decision.
p.s I personally think this combo is much smoother and had difficulty but there were lots of boring combos that most of the people can do if you take out the sick neobak fall x2 and cont rev. -

Sorry, a ChauTran post.
I think ChauTran definitely did NOT edit his video, whether he proves it or not. If you ignore the table and just watch the hand, it'd be too hard to edit it so that it looks that smooth and well... connected.
15-16, 21-22.
^ On youtube, there are people saying how or if there is an edited part between 15-16 and 21-22. To pull off the well connected edit once would be pretty hard, twice seems too hard.
Seems like people are assuming he's edited the video before knowing if he really did edit or not. -

The spinners in the second round do not necessarily have to be the same spinners as the first round. They can choose to do that, but I think it so that they can let all the spinners on the team play at least one round. -

Unfair within the team? I dunno, I guess it's the way the teams and rounds are set up. Four people per round, six people in a team. That would mean in two rounds, two people will have to go in both rounds, if they decide to switch people out.

Yeah, that's why I just gave it as information, since I haven't cared to look exactly how long the combos themselves are. Next time, we should have a time restriction of the video itself though. Really, I didn't spin for 25 seconds, but it's not fair against those who've filmed to get exactly 25 just to see that some people have videos of 28 seconds.

if a spinner was pencilled to be a substitute from the get-go and the manager made it clear to him that he won't play unless something happens, then there's no reason to say its unfair.

This video shows that the blanket can move easily because his knees touch the table. Add to the fact that his camera has not a perfect framerate and will often lag and skip a few frames, you get the reason why the cover can move.
Unfortunately ChauTran is in the hospital right now because he got sick after going to the beach a few days ago So he can't post it in person.

did u guys ever had a piece of cloth with "bubbles" in it?. not really bubbles, but some areas with air. argh, dunno how to explain it.
well, these "bubbles" may "explode" at any time. they just dissappear and may get together with other bubbles and form new figures.. it's similar to soap bubbles.
that happened. for me it wasnt really chautrans feet. they just animated the "bubble" to explode. (at 0:15-0:16 u can see that very well)

I don't believe he edited it, it'd be too hard to make a smooth transition between two different clips. There are too many factors that can change, such as the pen's position, the hand position, the angle of the hand, lighting, even the speed of the pen. -

As far as UPSB is concerned, we have no victories in the second round. This means that we finish the first two rounds with 3 wins only. Both GPC and JEB advance to the second round, we are eliminated.
I must say it is quite disappointing because we were first in the first round but at the same time we didn't step up in the second round and raise the level and lost our lead. I think ChauTran deserved the win, but he might have lost points due to the quality of his camera and the controversy behind it. Regardless, even if we were to win that match, we would still be one win short of making the semis because this win is against THPSC, who are also out of the semis. So not much can be said there...
we needed to win at least 2 to secure our spot and we didn't deliver. That is all.
Congratulations to GPC, JEB, PPP and SweSpin for making it to the next round. Well deserved. -

As for UPSB's perspective. I'm also a bit disappointed. We have a very strong team, so I have always expected us to be in the Finalist. (If you asked me before I would even say UPSB will be the champ)

However, my combo was just not nearly as good as I planned. Of course, I have the excuse I filmed with a nearly broken middle finger, but judges don't have to care about that, it's about the quality of the video, which was quite difficult and well-performed, but not up to the task of beating Toro's video. I had a lot of plans for the video, but couldn't get it after nearly 50 hours of filming.

50 hours of filming takes a lot of effort and we're all proud of you for that even if you didn't win
this tournement just puts a bit of competittiveness into penspinning, but in the end, it's just a way to make you improve and get better and have fun
it may be upsetting that upsb lost all of its matches, but we had won 3 out of 4 of our matches last time, and everybody has its ups and downs

I see why the judges remain anonymous now. If their identity was revealed, they'd lose a lot of respect -- especially with this odd judging going on. We're a strong team with a lot of great spinners.
IMO
Toro's combo wasn't very special. Just twisted sonics, a few arounds, a tipped sonic and a bak riser. Eriror's combo had much more variety, difficulty and creativity.
Chautran also deserved the win. Both were very good combos, but Chautran definitely had it -- variety, difficulty, linkage. And chautran did not edit his video. Seriously, wtf. Editing would have been a lot harder than re-filming. Loved the finisher btw.
Maniok's combo had nice linkage, but the tricks weren't very difficult compared to Dathroat. The triangle pass > watch spin was pretty damn cool too.
Toast's combo was good, but Aces. H had very cool spin tricks. Inverse index spin is hawt. Aces. H did deserve this win.
That should have been three wins darn it! Oh, well. At least now, Eriror has time to rest his hand and not injure it any further. -

Though it would have been pure suicide for me and Toast, against JEB and THPSC.

and as far as difficulty goes, DaThroat's combo looked like "routine bonkura-style", lacking the "OMGWTF" factor
