"pens around the world" topic says dr grips can be found in australia, does anyone know where specifically?
WA? SA? NSW? K-mart? art stores? -
Date: Fri, Feb 29 2008 21:49:23
I saw them at OfficeWorks, not sure about other places though.
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 00:55:59
I can't find any BIC round stics in Australia NSW. I remember seeing shelf dominating ammounts of them a few years ago but now i can only find BIC crystals and papermate kilometricos.
Help please? Does anyone know specific stores which have them? kmart officeworks and coles seem to have switched to kilometricos/crystals. -
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 01:20:03
woolworth, coles
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 01:36:12
Coles only had kilometricos and crystals, i checked it today.
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 02:46:14
Yeah, you can find them anywhere, I see them all the time. I bought mine at Officeworks.
-

this therad is now about "Where to find pens" in australia, store-wise.
====
merged thread about bic round stics in main thread. -
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 06:48:38
Ok sure thing Zombo.
OfficeWorks
Pilot G2
Pilot Supergel
Pilot Dr Grip
Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip
Papermate Profile
Papermate Flexgrip
Bic Round Stic
Uni Lakubo
Should be more, but that's all I can think of. -
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 06:55:44
i also saw dr grips in some newsagencies. and in oficeworks i saw some zebra zarasas. weird
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 07:48:13
Round Stics can be found in officeworks and I saw them in woolworths the other day too. Dr grips I have also seen in Officeworks.
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 09:02:30
I checked the site for officeworks. They don't have any bic round stics on their online list of products.
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 09:09:35
They might not have it on their site, but its definitely available. I saw it myself.
Also at Officeworks:
Zebra Sarasa
Zebra Hyper Jell (I think I saw it) -

they dont have it at every woolworths or coles but they definately have them. justlook around
-
Date: Sat, Mar 1 2008 10:34:49
Go to some art shop .... like Linscraft, can't guarantee it'll be there but there's a chance. Mostly just check the local News Agencies first, there's one near me which sells G2's, Uni Signos, Lakubos etc.
Kilometric Pens can replace the bic round stics I guess. They're similar in a way. -
Date: Sun, Mar 2 2008 00:06:35
Thing with kilometricos is that the ink tube and front tip thingo is smaller than that of a bic so it can't fit in the barrel. And they also don't have a plug at the back so you can't use them to make a bictory
-
Date: Sun, Mar 2 2008 00:15:40
Just do a double cap mod for the Kilometrico. The spin great!
-
Date: Tue, Mar 4 2008 05:52:01
officeworks also sells signos!
i went there yesterday and omg they have a whole aisle dedicated to pens O.O not like kmart/target which have a small-ish shelf =="
referring to bic round stics, i only saw one packet (at officeworks)... -
Date: Tue, Mar 4 2008 11:10:05
officeworks = office supply heaven... i like spent excess of $100 there
-
Date: Thu, Mar 6 2008 23:00:42
I recently brought 2 packs of 10 BIC Round Stics at a Kmart closeby for like $1 a pack. Not bad
-
Date: Fri, Mar 7 2008 12:04:25
Yeah officeworks is awesome, I get all my stationary from there.

When I was at the bank I think the lady was using a Dr. Grip pen o.O
-
Date: Wed, Mar 26 2008 07:57:04
Heh, my first mod was a Lakubo SG. Get a Superb Grip (not super) and shove the cap and grip on the back of a lakubo.
You can get Pmate Pros (Profiles) at Officeworks and Franklins. 0o. -
Date: Wed, Mar 26 2008 08:03:54
yaah you copied my mod blugy...
officeworks isnt all that great for psing pens or mayb mine local just sucks >< -
Date: Wed, Mar 26 2008 10:31:10
Officeworks is great.
They have:
Lakubo
Profile
Dr Grip
Bic
Jimnie Gel
Signo
HGG -
Date: Thu, Mar 27 2008 13:41:03
Officeworks really depends.
Their online serive contains all the pens they stock.
That doesn't necessarily mean your local store will have it in stock, but I suppose they could order it in.
When I went to my local Officeworks recently, the only ~decent~ pens they had on offer were HGGs, Signos and Lakubos...
No Dr. Grips at my local one
Edit: Well, I suppose ~recently~ was when the back to school rush was on, and the pens section was kinda empty. I'll check again this weekend maybe. Might get lucky -
Date: Sat, Mar 29 2008 00:53:36
i bought a couple of papermate gel roller 2s from woolies and they work awesome. the grip's in the right place and not too grippy. good balance.
EDIT: ok people i didn't know what i was talking about and now i loathe those pens -

Has everyone heard? Harvey Norman made a store called " OFIS "
its supposed to be the largest stationary store in Sydney ill edit if i find out more -
Date: Thu, Apr 3 2008 06:22:19
It hasn't opened yet, but the first one will be at Auburn.
-
Date: Thu, Apr 3 2008 10:21:26
unless they stock rsvps or something, it will most likely be just another officeworks only bigger, with mostly the same pens.
-
Date: Sun, Apr 6 2008 03:08:20
i thought i heard on the radio it did open.
oh well mustve heard wrong, ill have to make do with office works :L
i have found kilometricas make good middle section because they dont spin that bad.
@bananaketchup im hoping with more pens they will release a model like rsvp or something like a replacement for it.
since its bigger it should have a bigger variety of pens right? -

Uniball Lakubo is a replacement for the Pentel RSVP. The Papermate Kilometrico is not as good because the barrlel is smaller -

Officeworks does have dr grips. i've seen them... heh, i've bought hggs from there as well ^^;
They also have signos which you can use as a substitute for hgg tips. Or if u still can't find that in OW, newsagencies also have them.

Sure if your curious as to where to buy pens, why not just check out your local newsagent and have a browse through the pens, thats what I did,
and umm Bic Pro+ (http://www.biceveryday.com/products/pens/proball.aspx) seemed to be the best that they had in at the time.QUOTE (WhiteFang @ May 29 2008, 06:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>they don't sell modded pens. we buy pens then mod them/...

"aswell as other private sellers mod the pens then you CAN buy them straight off modded.." No shit? of course if i make a mod and sell it, you CAN buy a mod. but is that a STORE? how come you didn't mention Spinz? were to smart enough to realise that you can't buy Spinz in Sydney? or were you not aware of existence of Spinz?

I went to Office works the other day and i got the pens to make a LoneFang Kt or maybe it should be called Dr. ST(smart-tip), At first i was like Wtf this smarttip texta doesn't double cap then i was like oh i have to push abit harder. I also got the barrel umm pictures? off with folded up printer paper and made it writable
and they had a pack of 10 hggs i only got the 4 pack for $10 pretty expensive and there was 4 packs of blue and black profiles for $6.99.
I got:
2 black pilot dr. grips $20
pack of 10 smart tip markers $3
Pack of 4 hggs(green,red,blue,black) $10
Pack of 4 black profiles $7
so i spent like $40 and abit due to rough estimates of prices
G2s were like $14 for 4 D: -

but there's sunbursts at officeworks (atleast in the west, and probably in the east as well)
so you can always use that
(I dragged that over here from the other thread. Zombo asked me too.)
So anyway, if it's that specific store does anyone know the name of that shop? -
Date: Sat, Dec 20 2008 22:54:26
It means that there is a Japanese shop that sells RSVPs. We don't know which one though.
Sweet we got Nextages and Airfits now :D:D -

you can get pens in perth from officeworks and newsagencies
they have the usual pens, sunbursts (yay!), hggs, g2, signo, bics, etc.
actually, there's a good shop in the city
i'll try and direct you... except its going to be abit like chinese whispers, since you have to tell ur aunt.. is it aunt?
i'll assume that she knows her way around the city
ok, so you have the city.
you need to go to carillion city arcade from perth train station side (on second floor)
before you go into the arcade, there is a side alley-type thing, where you go past a cafe
there also should be in that arcade part, a shop where they sell shirts, number plates, stickers etc, a warhammer shop (games workshop) and near the stair case (well, atleast i think there's a staircase) there is a shop with hello kitty and pink stuff and the most awesome hello kitty dolls... did i mention hello kitty?
anyway, near the counter, there is a book shelf of pens, you can get namae pens (well, korean copy), monami plus pen 3000 and geller rolls
hopefully ur aunt knows what i'm talking about, i'll try and find maps etc. for you/others in perth
its the one that says city arcade, you'll find it there
hopefully the map helps abit more
here's the URL if you want to send it to ur aunt via email
City Arcade Map
EDIT: i went there again today
its called morning glory
there's alot of pens from that brand, so if anyone wants to try and mod them
there were decents ones, with signo-like tips
and also:
monami plus pen 3000
sakura gelly rolls
namae pen replacement (called the name pen)
and there were more monami pens -

is that store in perth?
it just says vaguely that there's a japanese store in australia
but idk, go look around northbridge, there's bound to be a korean/chinese store there
and go check nippon fair and those japanese food stores in subi, there might be kts there
tell me if there are any there, or cheap(er then officeworks) dr grips
and the hello kitty store is korean
i'll go back there on friday to see if they have commsas -
Date: Mon, Jan 5 2009 08:57:31
nah i read about it somewhere other than the pens around the world thread. i think it was lonefang his friend got RSVPs and said he got em from a japanese store in Perth.
-
Date: Mon, Jan 5 2009 11:12:37
well, try subi, since they have a fair few japanese stores there
the city might have some stores, but probably not
i've been to tokyo underground on hay st, but they didn't have anything decent
i'm hoping that there will be kts somewhere in perth -

isnt this supposed to be in regular pen discussion? idk really.
but it might be more helpful if u included a list of pens that you wanted to find for them so that they can narrow it down -

Hey guys i got an office works real close 2 me sells all the pens mechined on first ppage like signos pilots and all that
but i just don't know a good mod i can make out of those so if u know one or made one yourself i would love it if
i could have measurment of the length of the pen and what grips are best from OFFICEWORKS -
Date: Thu, Mar 26 2009 10:41:09
hey guys i was wondering if australia really needs RSVPs? cause for wat i no Sunburst can be used as subs and if u want, u can take of the barrel designs with AceTone free nail polisher. and for the ink tube u can use a kilometrico (i think thats what they're called) as subs. although the ink tube is longer then the rsvp inktubes, you can always cut it.
true? -

probably not the best place for that post, but you can make
rsvp mx (sunburst+hgg)
hgg^2 (hgg and g2)
you *could* technically make a firefly g3, with subbed parts, but i can't be bothered explaining subs
same with ayatori
i'm sure you can make others, but i really can't think now....
oh, various mx variations using g2 (eg/ mmx, nt mmx)QUOTE (NoobiePenTrixx @ Mar 26 2009, 06:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>hey guys i was wondering if australia really needs RSVPs? cause for wat i no Sunburst can be used as subs and if u want, u can take of the barrel designs with AceTone free nail polisher. and for the ink tube u can use a kilometrico (i think thats what they're called) as subs. although the ink tube is longer then the rsvp inktubes, you can always cut it.
true?
yup
use sunbursts for as rsvp subs, if you really want to write with them, you can use papermate kilometrico inktubes
and yes, the inktube is a bit longer, but you can easily cut it
the only downside to only having sunbursts are that there are no red/black ones (well, in my officeworks they dont) so i can't make a red/black mx -
Date: Thu, Apr 2 2009 07:20:58QUOTE (NoobiePenTrixx @ Apr 2 2009, 02:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>hey have u tried making a sky blue and pink RSVP MX looks preety nice, i got one. Sky blue sunburst and pink HGG grip with pink HGG Inktube and that insert on the wiki. try it out.
now thats definitely off topic
and to bring it back on track:
smiggle stocks ballsign copies, so now, theres a cheap and easy way to get a ballsign mod
its called a glitterstick
http://www.smiggle.com.au/SM_navIWCatProdu...duct_Id=1294786
and also, there's no kt/ct/mm copy in australia is there? -

they're available at officeworks -

erm guys i am going on vacation to australia in early december, particularly gold coast area. it would be helpful if you guys can list out what i can find pretty easily there since i have 1 or 2 days for free time, i will go penhunting. my main idea is to pick up some flexgrips and sunbursts, but please tell me if there is any other stuff worth getting. thanks in advance, really appreciate it . (it would be better if i know the pricetag because my mom is not gonna pay for me to rip pens apart for spinning so i am on a massive saving spree now. )

I read the pens around the world thread and saw that they supposedly had dong-a's in china town. I went trekking across chinatown but can't seem to find any in the jap/korean shops
Does anyone know where they could be specifically?
