Do you guys know those 2 learning wheels you put on bicycles for little kids?
I started practicing PS like 2 or 3 days ago (currently trying and failing thumbaround and sonic), and for a start I just got myself 2 round unsharpened pencils (Well, they were sharpened before I cut them with a little saw), and after I felt that theyr'e too light for me, I added equal squares of tin foil around each edge, and then a Pilot Supergrip grip around each edge, so they'll become heavier. And now after Thumbaround doesn't really like me, I added a wire that goes around the pen and my hand, so now it won't keep dropping to the floor. I want you guys to take a look and tell me if it's good for me to learn the fundamentals with.

If you can use it, it's fine. You don't need anything special for individual tricks. I don't think you should worry about getting anything special until you start putting combos together.

That string idea is really good, even if it only works for the basics. I remember learning the TA and dropping to the floor all the time, I had a backache by the time i learned it. rolleyes.gif

Sketching's right. U don't really need to worry about modding when you're learning the basics (Ta, sonic, charge, fingerpass, etc.) I wish I had thought of your wire idea! (Would have saved my back a lot of pain) If You are having trouble learning the basics, i suggest that you watch the video tutorials by akujinnoeso on youtube.

    lolol

well i could see how it could help with the fundamentals, but if you practice over a desk it'd probably just be easier to pick it up happy.gif

I'm new to this too. I satrted like 3 weeks ago, and I've almost mastered the thumbaround. Now I'm struggling for the reverse thing... flicking the pencil back is a lot harder!

maybe its too light or too thin. I just started like a week ago and i almost have the TA and the reverse mastered and thats only because i made a RSVP CX. An unsharpened pencil has no momentum.

you dont need to ask anyone if it is ok to spin your mod. if it works, then it works. No mod will really deter your spinning if you like. Try different pens and find one you like. I used to be in love with the KT and other long, heavy pens, and i still like them, but once I tried an mx, i decided that it would be my favorite. My new favorite is my Superpirat.

The string idea is neat, but dont take that to school, or an asskicking will be sure to follow.
