    ...than the middle section?

im assuming there are practical reasons for this

lol, ok. care to elaborate? im guessing that it helps the pen go through 12 more smoothly (for the basic infinity)

    Just like what se7en said...
Let me ask you this: "Would you rather spin a pen with a uber thick body and thin ends? Or thin body and thick ends?"

yea its for momentum. with out heavier ends spinning would be harder. Ever try spinning a pencil? i just can't do it because of the lac of momentum but then again i am still a beginner.

A fat body would be hard to spin mellow.gif

Big ends for aesthetic appeal and logical momentum placement (more momentum with less actual mass)

Well my thought is, ya don't see too many pens where the caps are smaller than the body.

    Just my two cents

Yea, like although you might see some pens with the grip the same diameter of the pen body, you never see the grip thinner than the body. only thicker than the body so i think that we do that because it makes sense to us seeing a bunch of pens like that

    you mean the caps?
most if not all pen caps are bigger that the body..
    does that explain?

no.. the thicker can mean it;s lighter too!!!
if the ends are made of styrofoam and they're thick as crap.. it's still not gonan be as heavy as thin thin thin thin thin thin endsmade of lead!!!
but yeah mostly cause more stuff amkes it weigh more
