Feel free to post ideas of projects and topics here. These can be very vague ideas or ideas that have not been tested for realism yet. As long as you think it is possible, post them here.

This is to list ideas we may work on and some of them will definitively be picked up and be concretize as a project or topic.

Here's some examples of my own:

    Project: LED Mods.

Topic examples: A new way to balance the weight on LED pens, A way to make LED pens rechargeable, A way to easily constuct LED pens.

    Project: Outserts.

Topic examples: Analysis of the current use of outserts, A new design of outserts which improves pen spinning performance, A new way to make outserts durable.

    Project: Ease-of-modding.

Topic examples: Use of "X" to reduce time taken to mod. A new easy-to-mod, yet efficient mod.

These are just examples. I'm not an expert in pen modding, I'm sure you can come up with much better ideas.

So as some of you might know, I've started a project to update the Wiki with more "up-to-date" mods... so I think I need more people from research to help me with this, mainly because no one else is willing... wink.gif

    Describing momentum quantitatively?

I recently noticed that the weight of the pen doesn't matter so much as the actual weight distribution and "momentum"

perhaps working on a way, whether it be through mathematics and calculating something or a system that can help describe momentum and weight distribution. ( further than just back heavy... ) as many pens are, center heavy?... hollow feeling?

Creating a way to calculate optimum barrel length and size, weight location and barrel length for spinning?

It's actually not that difficut to do, if you can accurately describe where the weight is.

Really good idea i think. I don't have many mods, but if someone does and can measure things, i can calculate momentum for the pens.

webspider posted a method of calculating momentum in the gpc http://forum.penspinning.de/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13525

(original thread from RPSC http://penspinning.clan.su/forum/9-384-2#11095 )

    I like my method.

*picks up pen* I think this feels good.

Mathematics can never suffice personal preference.

Pen-trends will still be as follows:

    Newcomers want longer heavier mods.

Seasoned spinners want longer heavier mods.

Old-School Spinners don't want longer heavier mods.

the problem is, you can't always pick up the pen before you go get one. if you end up not liking it, then you've already paid for it.

weight and length are good indicators, adding momentum would make it even more precise and give more info to potential acquirer.
