Now that UPSB is back... kind of, I'm gonna start to get more serious about pen spinning again. On the old UPSB.info, in the test section, Kam posted a pen spinning organizer? It was a nicely organized Excel document that was also released on UPSB, but I can't find it. Does anyone have this anymore? I still have one copy printed out, but it's already used.

    Cheers,
    Retro

EDIT: Where the hell is UPSB!??! Fix it!

    Here's a repost Retro,

    The Pentrix Training Schedule

This is a simple (at least for the users) excel spreadsheet that will help you organize your training sessions and help you keep track of the tricks you're trying to learn and improve.

Many thanks to De'vo (for showing me the importance of proper training) and KelvinChan (for helping me test out the first draft of the schedule and giving me additional ideas).

Feel free to post comments on the schedule...this is just a first version...I'm sure there are a lot of room for improvement...specially the preset schedules, which I didn't have enough time to research or refine.

    Links:

Training Schedule - http://www.pentrix.com/articles/pentrix_training_v100.xls (created using MS Excel 2002)

Timer - http://www.pentrix.com/others/timer.php (another tool to help you time yourself).

IMPORTANT: Different people have a different tolerance in their fingers. This schedule has not been throughly tested and some schedules may be too harsh for most people. Be sure to take regular breaks and never overtrain. If you feel any discomfort, stop immediately and get some rest. If the pain doesn't go away in a day or two, consult a professional physician.

Yeh, I saw that ages ago but i didn't do it. Then I went back because i decided to but the download link didn't work for me dunno.gif. I might try it again soon. Looks pretty good.

What did De'vo do to show you the importance of a training schedule? Does he follow one?

I don't think he uses an excel spreadsheet like this, but he has talked about how he has designed hours of the day to train certain areas of XCM. Most people only "practice", which involves the casual repetition of tricks here and there, usually in a classroom or watching TV. But it's clearly more efficient to devote an amount of time just for spinning. Because once you're past the warm-up stages, your progress is much faster than your casual practice.

Other than that, he also inspire me to create the different categories on the schedule, such as Presentation, Mastery, etc.
