Here's a new mod I made today with a nice order from Jetpens.
I think it could be a nice european alternative to the MX^2 created by TEK. You can use rings in the cap just like in the MX^2 if you want that kind of look.
HG2G3 Mod with Balance:
Weight: 13.87 grams
TUTORIAL:
Parts Needed:
1X Pilot G3
2X Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip
1X Ballpoint ink from a Bic Click or RSVP
Step 1 - Get G3 cap, remove clip and remaining bump, cut off the ring on 1 HGG grip (save this for later) and cut a 2.6cm section of the remaining part og the grip and stick the G3 metal tip into it at the end. Slide this into the G3 cap. (similar to a G3MX cap)
Step 2 - Get all the ink out of the G3 ink tube. Do this by pulling out the plastic part holding the tip with pliers, blow all the ink out into the garbage/sink, run water through it and dry the inside with paper towel to remove all residue. Replace the plastic part holding the ballpoint tip.
Step 3 - Remove the original G3 grip and file down the square bumps that remain.
Step 4 - Put your insert into the body, and slide the now empty ink tube where it used to be, securing it with some glue (I used crazy glue).
Step 5 - Drill a hole into the G3 back plug large enough for the tip of the extra ballpoint ink to stick through, but not fall out. Put this assembly into the back of the G3 body (sliding the new ink tube inside the empty G3 ink tube).
Step 6 - Glue your two HGG tips on top of one another, and then either with teflon tape or more glue, attach the tips over the ballpoint tip of the G3 ink tube.
Step 7 - Slide the ring from the HGG grip that went into the G3 cap and the full un-cut HGG grip over the front of the pen's HGG tips.
Step 8 - Apply a few layers of clear tape over the back end of the G3 body so that the G3 cap hold on tightly.

As I said in the first post, you can use different colored rings with the grips in the front as well as the grip in the cap.
Also, its kind of similar since it uses two HGG tips and is better balances than a regular G3 MX. -

I can't find any rsvp in indonesia, and it's expensive to buy from outside, so i try this one, where i can get all the needs here,
but, is it like the original rsvp on spinning and the weigh too? or is it lighter and shorter?
Thanks -

Compared to an MX^2, it is about 1cm shorter, the barrel is about the same thickness, same barrel feel, and the HG2G3 is a little bit heavier.
I have organic chemistry lab tomorrow, and I'll weigh them both on an accurate scale to get the exact weights. -

Hooray,,, can't wait for the lab test.
but the point is the same barell feel and much heavier,
which i think is good for a noob like me. -

An RSVP MX is about 12.6 grams. So this mod is a little heavier, feels a little heavier than an MX^2 as well. -

I've just finished one. Nice mod.
It spins nice.
Thank's for your invention. You're the man.
But i think you've missed some point.
When removing G3 Grip, and removing bump from G3 grip area.
Sorry, bad english -

@ BlackPack
Thanks. I'm glad you like the mod
And thanks as well for noticing that missing part of the tutorial (I added it in there). -

Oh yeah, two more things.
First,
Make sure you clean the remaining ink from plastic part holding the tip and the tip it self (G3 ink tube), if not, the remaining ink will leak out
and sometimes reach the end of G3 body and spill out from the hole that we've made for the ballpoint ink before. Or maybe messing your insert.
Edit: Mine got leakage from the HGG tips, damn ink... messing my table and my notebook.
Second,
it's kinda hard to put the insert, because of G3 ink tube. You must use a thin layered paper.
Correct me if i'm wrong -

well. i think the purpose of hg2g3 is for those who don't have any rsvp,
if i have rsvp, i will make rsvp mx, not this one =) -

You can cut it, which makes it easier, or use a paper clip to get under it and break the glue
