I've easily spent at least 500 USD on pens alone and since I've also spent money on modding tools like a dremel, hacksaw, drill, file, etc. its prolly all around 600 bucks, but for those people who have seen my collection, they know its all worth it!!!

You don't need hundreds of pens to be a good pen spinner. I got a lot of pens for free as well as gifts. The only pens I bought are a few HGGs and a couple of SuperPirats. -

honestly, through all the trades, modding, experimenting, breaking, and the soon future purchases, probably around 150-175 USD for me. But i find it a health hobby to indulge in. Sometimes I enjoy trading and buying pens more than spinning. -

I didn't spend anything pens, on the contrary - I gained 3 dvds for free
Cause I made a decent pen mod for my friend - other friend gave me a wooden stick for free and I got 2 decent grips from grandmothers non-working pens.
Then I just got some grips and caps from few friends and also I just take whatever is left on table at school.. and it's alot of it. I don't really need anything else to spin with so far. -

I dunno....if a store could count for it.
After all, while working as a comic artist and artist in all ways drawing and painting, I left 2,400 Euros (around 3,500 Dollars) on the way the last 5 years, including refill cartridges, for example for layout markers )(more than 100 copics around)....
The most expensive pen I have is 200 Dollars, the Graf-von-Faber-Castell "Perfect Pencil" with platinated silver cap, got it as a present for my diploma as an artist.
The most used and my beloved main pencil is absolutely not suitable for spinning, the no longer produced PH802 from Pentel.
The PH158 is still around to be found on ebay, with 8 different colours inside one pen.
And so the collection and the profession match, hobby and work are the same, so I might have the same problem as penwish Do these costs count?
I am always buying too much stuff, when it comes to pencils and I L-U-V their design.

i have baought like 6 packs of rsvps in total, mostly from breaking the barrels, losing pens, and trading...thats about like 6 dollars each so 36 dollars on rsvps..
i have used 2 packs of g2s, and 1 pack of g2 minis, thats about another 15...
3 packs on anyballs, about another 18, but i'll keep it simple and say 15

a 10 pack of signos, COMPLETELY obliterated by me. thats about 20 dollars (actually worth much more, since they sell two for 5 dollars here) I cant find this pack in canada, which sucks hard..
I'll say 10 dollars for miscellaneous stuff such as fake commsas, bags for shipping, various random pens that are probably with more then 10 dollars that i destroyed but not going to count.
thats about at LEAST $115, actually not that much, considering how long i have been spinning for, my status, etc.
I think i'm missing stuff, but whatever. making this list made me realize how silly pen spinning can be lol. -

I agree, comssa's are a waste. I never use them. I never use the KT either...its terrible for spin tricks, it just flops around. RSVP MX is bleh, they look good but i dont like having a pen that isnt the same on both sides(RSVP cap on one end makes the pen feel uneven). Tombow ABT's are too long. Those mechanical Zebra pen and pencil mods feel weird and i always stab myself in the face with them when it whips out of my grasp. I have a few others that i dont really use often.

Mmmmm, i just got a shipment care package from a friend that lives in Korea. She sent me 75 pens total. Monami 153's, 3000 plus pens, Monami Audema, Dong-A's galore, Playcolor2, Monami Sign pens, two red and yellow capped monami's that i've never seen before, and these really neat striped pilots which i will post in the post your pens thread because i've never seen them before.
She also sent me a usb computer keyboard with korean lettering and a bunch of great photo's.

In the ucpsb days, I used to be spending every penny I had on Rsvps, hggs, mod parts, w/e on Penwish and other retail stores. Probably up in the 50-80 dollar mark. Buhh then I sold some of my pens to my friends which made the profit of about 40 dollars in return.
Now, I realize this. You only have 2 hands. You dont really need thousands of pens [Eriror mentioned this WAYYYY back before, and I thought he wuhs crazy, buhh he's right]. A little hand full of about 5-9 pens should be good enough. So I only spend like, 10 dollars. -

Honestly, I'm not too bad, i only have about 15-20 G3s... Which is about $40 I guess...
Now add that to about 30-40 anyballs, 12 G2 EX/Pro, $50 on penwish, 10 hyperjells, 14 super tips, 18 HGGs, 20 G2s, 5 airfits, about 20-30 needlepoints, 20 sailors and other pens such as lakubos/rsvps/signos (i had about 20 signos)/supertips/nextages/felt tip pens (e.g. namaes/twin arts/play colors)...
Hmm, I can safely say I spend over $300 in two months... but I know i spent more than that in total from trading and trying to make new mods from different pens away from the norm. -
