to learn the twisted sonic do you need charge, or reverse charge? and what fingers is charge suppose to be on? (cuz i see tutorials using ring and middle, while kam's vid has index and middle) *confusing ohmy.gif

You need to know Charge the FingerPass in order to do a Twisted Sonic (normal).
It can be either Twisted Sonic 23-12 or Twisted Sonic 34-23. The latter is usually more difficult.

you need to know charge normal (i recommend charge 23, middle and ring)

it may help to know charge 12 as well (index and middle)

Someone doing a twisted sonic from 12.. Must be a twisted sonic reverse which you need to know charge rev.

forget that guy...just do half a charge in 23 (ring and midle finger) and while the pen is moving just put your index finger in front of it and pause it on thumb flap...practice and with some time it'll get smooth

for some reason the pen position after the charge is set so that so that that the pen is behind the middle finger....drives me crazy. where should my index be?

Don't think about how far you have to charge; just pass asap after starting the charge motion.

If you know how to do it but it's choppy there's no need to watch the tutorial. just practice more

Are you doing a charge and then stopping and doing a pass? If yes then you`re doing twisted sonic wrong=P; I did that when I was first trying to learn twisted sonic but after 10 minutes of trying it came to me while I wasn`t paying attention. It should be one fluid motion; don`t try and bend your index finger down to grab it. After the charge your index finger should just tilt a little and then the pen should just fall into place; it`s all one motion not two seperate ones.

What he means is from what the thread starter said. 'while kam's vid has index and middle (doing twisted sonic from index to middle i presume) *confusing' and he is just saying that 'kam' was probably doing a twisted sonic reverse.

When i started doin twisted sonic, the pass would always be horizontal (parallel to the ground) but as i practised, i began seeing the circular motion in the pass. I guess that would be an important part.

Don't expect do be able to just do it right after watching the video. It takes practice man.

SO EASY! twisted sonic for me was easier to learn than charge/thumbspin/and sonic....

W00T... plus its frekin fun to do lol

    easier than charge?

One thing I found (having only learnt the Twisted Sonic properly in the last few weeks) is that I could do it much more smoothly with my palm facing directly downwards whilst practicing.

I can do it fine in either orientation now, but when I first started it was with my hand vertical & palm facing sideways, and it was really choppy. As soon as I rotated my palm downwards it became instantly smoother and I got a much better feel for the motion.

How can twisted sonic possibly be harder than charge if a twisted sonic is a combo of a charge & a pass

idk... for me the twisted sonic was just a piece of cake... i watched eso's tutorial and had it down by the end of the video. charge on the other hand... i had to watch eso's tutorial like 10 times to get that one

I was like that to, once you know charge you basically know twisted sonic, at least that was how it is for me. Charge took me weeks to learn though

I've a question about Inverse Twisted Sonic:

Twisted Sonic is basically a Charge ~ Pass ~ Charge, correct? But when I do Inverse Twisted Sonics, I always do an extra charge before it, as in: Charge 1.5 ~ Pass ~ Charge. I find that if you just do half of a Charge (which I believe you're "supposed" to do), it just looks like a pass. I'm pretty sure Eso did this in his Twisted Sonic Variations tutorial (where I learned it from). Do most people do this or should I do half of a Charge before the pass?

It is actually basically a charge from ring and middle to middle and index smile.gif

took 4 days to get this and it was fairly easy, eso explained it very will

twisted sonic was hard for me to learn too sleep.gif

whenever i watched the tutorials they always did it really fast..

...y not just show it really slowly first? then tell us that it has to be fast...

    screwed me over so much...

How do you get the pass to be more circular? I try the twisted sonic, but when I fingerpass, the pen kinda falls down onto my thumbflap, instead of doing a spin.

  32. iamk34n3
    Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 07:54:02

It's not supposed to spin. Twisted sonic is half a charge interrupted by a pass.

  33. renwickftw
    Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 10:45:37

Hmm then I guess mine is just too choppy/unsmooth. For some reason, mine looks really obvious that I'm pushing the pen when I pass, and is really flat. Guess need to practice more mellow.gif

  34. sketching
    Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 11:05:46

You do the Pass portion while keeping the circular motion from the Charge beginning, with practice you should be able to combine the two kinds of spin into a single, fluid motion. Right as you reach about 0.25 Charge rotation the pen should be positioned to go directly into the Pass Reverse, then another 0.25 Charge rotation follows the Pass Reverse.

    i have some questions...

is inverse warped sonic 12-23 possible?
and is a charge reverse in 23 to a pass rev to 12 a warped sonic reverse or a twisted sonic reverse?

Every video I watch on the twisted sonic, the fingerpass looks like a spinning one. I don't understand how people can do that dry.gif My fingerpass makes the pen flop down onto my thumb flap like most beginners.

you do charge 23 then pass to 12 (inside pass)

  40. cecil
    Date: Fri, Mar 27 2009 11:58:46

You do a normal charge between 2-3 then you do a reverse pass with ur index finger.

it took me no time at all to master twisted sonic, about one day or less. its really now that hard to learn

i would recomend learning charge first thow it really does help

I couldn't do 34-23 for a long time. I tried for about 5-6h once, got frustrated and left it. After like 3 months I tried again and did it without problem. I guess it's just finger dexterity, as phua sy said. Train outstreching (is it a good word?) your ring finger further. Good charge 34 might help as well.
    Good luck.

I can actually do the twisted sonic, but the problem is that i dont know how to make the final transition smoother, i can do the half charge and catch it in the 12 slot and bring the pen around to the t1 slot, but i dont know how to make that final rotation more circular...any tips? (and am i making sense?)

All I can say is when you are going to do the pass, try and keep the momentum of the pen going, and complete the circular shape the charge has started. Doing that will make the trick more circular in shape, rather then linear and thus give your twisted sonic a smoother overall appearance.

u need to know a faked charge in the 23 position and a semmetrical (inverse in other words) pass (23-21). together it makes a twist combo smile.gif
