Do you have pens that you think are the best and most versitile in modding?

I personally think that the G2, RSVP and Dong-A Sign Pen are the best modding pens out there.

It seems as if a most mods use the pens you listed.
I guess HGG can be added to the list, but it's mostly only used for its tips and grips...

Closed-minded threads like this are what hinder the modding potential of unknown pens. Just throwing that out there.

i dont want it to be a list

are you sure about a dr. grip? its not as versitile as an anyball. but other than that, i completely agree

    For me it's:

    1. Pilot G2
    2. Profile/anyball
    3. Dong-a computer sign pen
    4. Pentel HGG
    5. Pentel RSVP

The only reason the RSVP is so far down is because it's hard to make a retractable pen without using a retractable RSVP sad.gif

For me its about the same

i think profile/anyball is very versitile for the grips
G2's are good also the clicker is used in many mods, although i can find lots of replacements.

There is no "Best Pen for Modding"

...hwoever there are pens taht are more useful than others..

    for me it would be

    1.RSVP [Colors](looks cooloer ya kno?)
    2. Dong-A Computer Sign Pen
    3. Papermate Profile/Anyball/etc
    4. I can't think of a number 4...i accidentally put keicho on here earlier..whcih is weird cuz its one of the mose useless pens in modding...

i say rsvp because of teh numerous mods for rsvps....(its ENDLESS)

but the comssa....is just so damn flexible...it can make double sided mods(com.SSa, com.SSa Metallic)...as well as single sided mods(HCMX, Flexible MX)]

but profiles are really there just for the grip....the only other thing taht can be used is the retractable mechanism...and the body(any-x)

the retractable mechanism is useful for making retr mods by pushing an rsvp grip, portion of an rsvp cap and the clicker...

so far the onl rly good mods made using that are teh SAR MP and the ARMX(originally used for taht)....but u could use it for many otehr things if u sued ur imagination

I personally like the RSVP the best for modding. I also like Papermate Profiles.

Yeah...I love RSVPs for modding, they hae a lot of potencial.

ComSsas, well, pretty cool, retr. and stuff like that

Anyball/Profile(Sailor too) and so on, grips, Body great to mod..

    Thats all I think^^

Probably RSVP just beacuse like its used in so many mods even is only parts of it are used.

I agree that there isn't really one...My favorite pens to mess around and mod with are RSVPs, Dr. Grips (for the grip, not tip), and HGG for the tips. A lot of you guys said Anyball/Profile, but I realized, I hardly ever use those anymore, I see that a lot of you said Dong-A too, but I have little access to those, so I can't mod them much =/

well people tend to buy a lot of the same pens cause some of the most common mods uses those pens like mxs and comssas
then with all these pens that people may not always use, new mods/variations come out from experimenting with rsvps and comssas and hggs and whatever else
people wont' really go out and buy a different pen that nobody else has used before and experiment with that
if you experiment with an rsvp, and maybe the parts/grips that you want to fit on it dont' fit, then at least you can always fall back and just use it for mkaing an mx and not waste that rsvp

so although there are probabbly better pens for modding out there other than the rsvp and comssa and hgg, people are just too insecure and financially unable for them to get a bunch of different pens and experiment/make mods out of those

but that's why we have people like k4s to try new things out for us happy.gif and that's why we're all so grateful that somebody like k4s exists

but i don't disagree about the fact that rsvps, comssas, and anyballs and such are helpful--cause they're really helpful no doubt, but adding on to what k4s said before, thinking that there are just certain pens that everyone should just stick to cuase those seem to work the best really is just a tunnelvisioned thought process

i personally haven't tried to experiment with too many pens because of financial holdbacks, so i'd still have to say that rsvps, comssas, anyballs, and whatever else you pepole mentioned are the 'best' pens for modding, but i'm just saying that there are definitely better ones out there that just havne't been discovered yet happy.gif

    1. Pentel RSVP
    2. Profile
    3. HGG
    4. Dong-a Sign Pens
    5. G2
    -----------------------

almost all of those can be used for nice mods.

I'm a big fan of Bic Velocity Mech Pencil grips. No one talks about these much. They are better than G2 grips. They have velocity pens that are easy to find in staples but the grips are the wrong ones..i think its an updated version. I found a bunch of Velocity Pens in a drawer in my house with the same grips but instead of white they are blue. I dont think they make these pens anymore though.

The good ones are the ones with the double row of dots on the sides of the grip.

I also really like Bic Soft Feel pens but they are hard to find. (not retractable). I had to order from the staples website, i went to the store and they were out so they ordered them for me and were nice enough to credit me the shipping charge.

The barrels on these are awesome and are great for tricks that involve the pen spinning on your hand because they keep the pen from sliding all over the place. Thumbspins have never been easier.
