because its a nice pen and its big.
bigger pen means more materials and
thats always going to cost more.
plus you gotta make profit. they probably
make it for less than half the price they
sell it for. sooooo... its esssspensive

it seems like it takes a lot of metal to make one you know?

like the tip...big old chunk of metal
    the shaker metal tube..metal..

and then if uve seen the insides of the body...you can see its just not any normal push mech...i mean they go all out with a huge spring
and this other chunk of metal right under the spring...
nice quality plastic and nice big rubber grip...
    its a top notch pencil

it would be nice if we could go make molds of the tips tho.

The pen's design was award winning, I'm guessing alot of money went into developing an ergonomic and hand-friendly pen.

In France, in some discount shops you can find Dr.grip for 0,50€ (=0,77$) happy.gif But it's very hard to find these shops.. I think they buy unsold dr.grips.

Well it is one of the best pen designs ever made, the ltd was even featured in a film.

Some info about the ergonomic design of the Dr. Grip: here.

I think the price is totally justified, because I personally think that is its extremely comfortable to write with a Dr.Grip, you don't get fatigued from writing that easily, and other good stuff mentioned in the website.

I heard that you dont have to press as hard to get the ink out while writing. I think its supposed to be 60% less force. Nice for older and arthritic (is that the word?) people.

The grip from the Dr. Grip COP version feels much better then the Dr. GRip Antibacterial one, and its cheaper ohmy.gif

  40. stevieboy7
    Date: Fri, May 9 2008 20:50:38

thats because it has a thin squishy grip underneath the dr.grip grip.

i like to use the thin grip for middle on Grip avaire. it works perfect

  41. Gunblakes
    Date: Sat, May 10 2008 00:24:42

No, it really feels better then the antibacterial version, without the grip inside.

wouwouwou we are way off the topic, why dr.grip is so expensive?
another reason i think of is the money they invest to make the grips so soft, squishy, transparent(almost), cute happy.gif , nice ter toush, elastic, comfortable to your hands, prevent arthiritis, and more....
pilot produces quality pen in a nutshell... laugh.gif
