Okay so this is the only trick/minicombo besides the BakFall that I can't do. I've been practicing for well over a month now and I just can't seem to get down this trick. I haven't even performed it successfully once. Now before you say 'practice is the key' or 'keep practicing' I've noticed that with almost every trick when first practicing, there's sort of an "Ohh" moment, where you just got the key thing in doing the trick, then practicing just goes uphill from there. Like.. with ThumbAround you first think you have to move your thumb, then you realize "Ohh" you don't then after a day or two you get it.
For the people who got this trick/minicombo, could you give me your experience in learning the trick, or the "key" in learning it?
EDIT: Oh and yes, I have watched Eso's tutorial. -

What part of it aren't you getting?

The pen doesn't want to seem to go around the middle finger, I can get it to reposition right if I just do the Neobak and catch it, but if I want to smoothly connect the Neobak, reposition, then Midbak, it just doesn't go around. I even tried exaggerating the jerking motion when at the middle finger, but it just flew off.
I do "Korean" style baks and neobaks, would the motion of the Weis backaround be helpful ? -

Yes, I think doing the Neobak and Midbak near further back on the fingers helps.

when I was learning how to link index bak and midbak for bakfall, I found that after transitioning to the midbak, the pen would be held too far towards my knuckles and it would get in the way of the pen when trying to midbak.
to fix this, it helped to add more upward force and less sideways for the midbak, and to narrow the gap when catching the bak. this also applies to the neobak. -

lift up your mid finger realll high.
as you open your mid finger realll high, turn your wrist clock wise (CCW if your a lefty) a bit so that the pen falls into mid bak postion
do a mid bak
done...?
i tried... -

When I do it I really pull my hand back a bit do position the pen for the mid bak.

I just did it my second try with a pencil .
I've never actually paid attention to this mini combo. It seems similar to when you are linking to a Neobak Fall. You have to really exaggerate the movement of the middle finger or at least thats how it seems to me. -

Remember to turn your hand palm down after the first neobak and stay that way. Start palm side, do a neo bak and stay palm down, lift your middle finger high and do sort of a circle movement with your wrist, like a mirrored C. Start at the bottom and go high, like the bak motion.
Practice that and it will come after a while...it's not too easy, imo.
I hope this helped :\ I suck at explaining. -

Its probably a good idea to learn the NeoBak first then practice linking it.
Clicky.
Thats what I did. Practice the tricks individually then practice linking them. You may find it hard at first.
But most importantly, learn both tricks first.

What you should try is to redefine the transition times.
Do the Neobak 12-12, but catch it between 123, where 1 is underneath the pen, near the tip (for example, right at the bottom of the cap of RSVP MX), 2 is on top of the pen, 3 is below. All 3 fingers are above the COB.
When you catch it, just stop. Take a good look and make sure that all 3 fingers are above the COB. If so, continue with the Midbak.
Once you understand the transitioning, decrease the pause between the two tricks until it's completely smooth. Good luck. -

Thanks for replying everyone I think I am starting to see some improvement, especially the pausing thing, I never thought of that and I can actually do it pausing in between.
