Hi,
I am new to penspinning but recently i have been playing around with my pen parts and eventually came out with this!
Length: 20.2cm
Weight: 10-12g
COG: 0.3cm off COP
Writable: Yes. Just remove the cap with the grips and write away!
Difficulty: Easy
Tutorial:
Parts needed:
1 x Stabilo Point 88 ( dun noe if this is available worldwide...)
1 x Pilot G2 Grip. Cut out 3 cells from the back of the grip, then cut away the bulge at the front of the grip. Measure 1.8 cm from the front and cut.
1 x Uni Laknock Grip. Measure 2.1 cm from back and cut.
1 x Monami JP-503 Tip.
1 x Pilot Super Gel Cap. Break the clip and file off the remaining plastic.
Tape
Knife
Scissors
Assembly:
Front Part:
1) Take the JP-503 tip and insert it into the Laknock grip. The grip should cover the bulge at the tip like this.
2) Take off the Point 88 cap. U might want to stuff some tissue into the cap to prevent leakage. Insert the grip with the tip onto the cap. Wrap some tape around the remaining part of the cap and insert the G2 grip (1.8 cm) into the cap. The G2 grip should fit nicely and tightly like this. And u are done with the front part!
Back Part:
1) Take the Super Gel cap. The clip should be filed away nicely (above). Take the G2 grip, the one with 3 cells, and push it into the cap. It should look like this. And u are done with the back part!
Assemble the parts together. Cap back the front part. Wrap some tape at the back of the Point 88 body so that the back part can fit nicely and tightly. Note: DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE! It will look very ugly.
U are DONE! Spin away!
Pros:
Long
Cool looking
Good momentum
Writable
Good for infinities
Very easy to mod
Cons:
Need parts from 5 pens
Cannot have inserts...
Hexagonal body
Comments and how can i improve please cause this is my first mod and tutorial.
EDIT: For the COG, take the letter "p" of the word point on the barrel as a guide.

I think it would be much better if it had a round
body and not just a hexagonal one. but thats just me -

yea you forgot to mention that under the Cons section. I personally dont like un-round bodies, they just feel weird. -

But its cool that it writes! Big ++ Also, maybe you should change the color of the green cap? to like black or something.

Nah, I think it looks better with the green cap...
Btw, personally, i feel that the pen body isnt too hexagonal till u cant spin it... i find it a little round -

Okay I just made this and heres my review:
Feel:
Its not too bad. The hex shape doesnt really affect the body much. Feels pretty much like a round body. The only irritant is the back part where the cap has a large thickness difference to the barrel. Its abit too long for me tho.
Spinnability:
The length of the mod gives it alot of momentum. Also the grip on the supergel cap creates a spot where the pen can be gripped for infinities.
Appearance:
I used a clear cap. Its not bad, quite sleek. -

Nice! Glad to noe that u r delighted with my creation...
Btw Jaybles can u help me weigh the SPSG? I nid the weight so that my tutorial is complete -
Date: Sat, May 3 2008 15:38:45
Okay using an ordinary kitchen scale with an accuracy to 0.01kg the estimated weight is a little less than 5g
edit: Sorry i meant up to 10g. My maths is phail -

0.1 Kg = 100g. If it is only accurate within 100g I don't think any pen weighings are valid with it.
btw Nice mod, I personally don't like the green cap, but other then that it looks nice. -

Hmmm... since most of u dun like the green cap.. then maybe i will change it after i get another super gel and replace the picture
EDIT: 0.01 kg... It can range from 10g to 19g... Not accurate enough... Nvm then and thanks -

It should be around 10-12 g, judging from the parts used.

the mod looks a bit weird as the colours are not matched.
its quite good for infinities(i tried before) but its too light isnt it?
overall its still a good mod -

the body is pretty well known here, but if you ask me i think it's to thin to manipulate...not something i would mod...but keep trying to amaze me^^
