Key3 G3 Mod
Mod facts
length: about 20 cm
weight: about 14 g
cost: $6.50?
Parts:
G-3×1
signo×1
HGG×2 (tips only)
HYPER JELL×1
Tapliclip×1
1.
G-3: completely file down the nubs at the grip
Use glue etc. to attach the tip of signo on the side the ink comes out of.
2.
attach the tip of the hgg on the side with screw threads of the G3 tip.
part of g3 grip is cut off and put between the clear part to cover it up
3.
cut off part of the g3 grip at the part without the threads and attach it to the front of the g3
when the constructed tip is attached there is a difference in the attachment to the g3
(otherwise, its not solid)
However, the problem of this is solved later
4.
cut 1cm off the back of the hyper gel grip and slide it down the front of the g3
slide the signo grip over the entire structure of including the tip thing
5.
put the hgg tip into the hyper gel cap first and then slide in the Tapliclip grip
6. wind tape around the top of the g3 body to hold on the cap tighter to the body
8. put the cap on
finished~ -

But does the G3 used in this mod have the plastic tip or the metal tip? -
Date: Sun, May 4 2008 06:22:16
meh, blame ponkotu for the bad color scheme...
ya, it would look nicer without the bulges though
plastic tip, which makes this mod good with current g3s -

Now that you mentioned it, they do.
Ayatori mod, saizen g3 mod, key3 mod, bonkura kt, g ryzer mod, etc. Wonder why -

i think it's all teh same mod...but they each just make their own variations of it ^^"' so then they call it 'their' whatever mod..
like teh ayatori mod isn't a whole new mod..it's jsut a variation of the lakubo mx i think =\
ryo on the other hand, created a whole new mod that wasn't just a variation...so therefore a new name was needed ^^''
i believe this is why..nto completely sure though =\
but it could just be something that they do and that we dont' really do cause if we make a variation of a mod like an mx..we'd call it a mx^2, or mmt, or some other new name -

Don't you guys know about google translate?
Or maybe you pretend to not, but actually you guys using it...
Yeah, so other ppl think your japanese is good. >_<
Here you go, from google translate
Google translate link : Click me

Production Cost : 6.1789 U.S. dollars (google calculator link)

Uniball Signo = 1
Pentel HGG = 2
Zebra Hyper Jell (or Zebra Jimnie) = 1

google's translation sucks btw look at this
First put pen to 4.3 and G-3 split-level portion of the screw can be in the grip of the G-3 Fill- google tranlater... wtf does that mean...
my translation( i know japanese btw but not good at reading the kangi aka chinese characters...)
after you screw on the modified g3 cap, secure it with another portion of the g3 grip- done by me... but i think mine is wrong also -
Date: Tue, May 6 2008 08:03:58
When you guys translate, please at least try to keep everything uniform... Being that I find hknl13's translation a bit hard to follow (especially step 2), let's try to make things a little easier to understand perhaps?
G-3 mod (key3 specifications)
Name: G-3 mod (key3 specifications)
Length: Approx. 20 cm
Weight: Approx. 14 g
Cost: ï¿¥650 (roughly $6.20 USD)
Overview of the pen:
key3 designed this pen for good weight but with its center of gravity (COG) a little off balance. The around and spread trick systems can also be performed easily. [...]*
Materials:
G-3 (plastic ver.) x1
Signo x1
Hybrid Fine x2 (Hybrid Gel Grip, Yes Hybrid)
HYPER JELL x1
Tapli clip x1
Instructions:
1. File down the bumps around the grip area of the G-3 completely.
2. Attach the Signo tip on top of the plastic G-3 tip. Use glue if necessary. Then place one HF (HGG) tip inverted inside the plastic G-3 tip.
3. Cut the 'ring section' off of the G-3 grip and place it over G-3 tip, covering the transparent part.
4. Cut the remains of the G-3 grip before the squares then use it to connect the tips onto the front of the G-3 body.
5. Using around 1 cm of the HYPER JELL grip, slide it onto the G-3.
6. Now slide your Signo grip on, over the G-3 grips holding the tips together.
7. There are now 4 grips in total holding the pen in place.
8. Put the second HF (HGG) tip into the HYPER JELL cap and afterwards the Tapli clip grip.
9. Wrap tape around the back of the G-3 to add thickness.
10. Place the HYPER JELL cap onto the G-3.
And you're done. The last step isn't really of importance, just about how to go on adjusting the pen's COG.
* By around and spread system, they're referencing to trick families (?) with the Japanese naming system. I'm not too keen with it so I can't say much more. And I don't quite understand what ponkotu was trying to say about the grip, hence the [...].
Hopefully that should be it. If there's anything to add or change with the instructions or the *, do so. -

I agree with Tek, I really think this is a really ugly pen IMO. Looks like it will be hard for U.S. spinners to obtain the parts. You didn't really need a translator, the pictures are explanatory.

You haven't tried it? -
Date: Sat, Jun 21 2008 03:30:35
I have a tapli clip, and the grip is nothing like the sarasa. The tapli clips grip starts out wide, then narrows, then widens again. And at the very end of the grip, there are 6 notches in it. This is why I think the tutorial is wrong because if you look at Ponkotu's mod, you can see the notches in the grip after the signo grip.

you need to get the perfect amount of tape so that it says on when spinning...and it doesn't cloud up the cap
cuz if you use too little...the cap will be loose
if you use to much...the cap will stretch and it gets cloudy...

because in some pics, the grip behind the signo has the dimples of the tapiclip.

Hmm.. i think you're a tad confused.
ill break down the grip structure for yah:
Front: Signo DX grip, black piece of Tapliclip grip
Back: HyperJell Grip
Thats it, thats all folks!
pretty simple, just like any other g3 mod. The tapliclip can be subbed for a multitude of things, most commonly Signo RT, or Signo Broad grips. -
