Ever since the start of UPSBv3, it seems like the shoutbox is constantly giving you troubles.

I agree WhiteFang. It was real nice for spinners just to keep in quick contact whilst browsing the board, and was useful for shouting info that might be of interest to those online. I hope you can fix the bandwith problems it caused! biggrin.gif

This plus it keeps spam in the shoutbox instead of in the forums.

I didn't even notice it was gone until I read this.

    Ahw :(

Even though I didn't like the shoutbox all that much, it's sad that it's gone. It was kinda usefull after all. Is it possible to kinda build a java #upsb chat into to board?

That's quite sad tho, shoutbox was cool. Specially people who don't wanna download shit for chat.

That's what Java-chats are for, and it was even linked in front of the shoutbox rules >.>

I never liked the UCPSB java chat, they don't like people from the Asia-pacific area. sad.gif They kick me off.

we'll keep it closed for 24 hours minimum, just to calculate how much bandwidth it takes exactly.

I miss the shoutbox sad.gif ...but bandwidth issues are understandable. Hope its resolved soon.

well according to my stats, the bandwidth gain from closign the shoutbox is only moderate so it's pretty much a non-factor, so I'll probably open it soon again after I strike a deal with the host provider to increase bandwidth.

I agree, it doesn't make much of a difference for me as I mainly just read the topics and whatnot. But it is always nice just to look up every now and then and see what the conversation is. Makes you feel really connected.
