I can only do ThumbSpin 1.5, but after that, it turns into a ThumbIndexSpin.
Does anyone have advice on keeping it a ThumbSpin?

if you want to keep it a thumbspin, dont try to 'balance' it after you push the pen, because the only way to balance it is to move it around your hand. instead, let it fall off and work on the push itself, and trying to push it in a way that keeps it on the thumb.

I find that if i keep the thumb bend (like in a 30 degree angle), and aim the pen to spin on the joint or higher, the it will usually stay there. While if i aim lower on the thumb, it will often "run of"...

Keep your index finger extended, away from the thumb.

yea keep your thumb extended AND have your thumb joint up a little bit.
also some ppl have like this little dimple in their hand that keeps the pen spinning.
my friend has it and he can spin it like 3.0 just on his thumb dimple.
