I had no luck finding help for this, cause I don't quite understand what Fake Double, Fake Triple and Continuous ThumbAround are in terms of differences. Sorry if this belongs somewhere else but since it's some kind of ThumbAround too I figured I'd make the topic here. Anyone can link me to a tut vid? Thanks.

Continuous TA is different from fake double/triple. Continuous TA's are exactly what they say they are...you just keep doing thumb arounds. Fake double is also known as extended thumb around. Fake triple = fake double -> TA

Okay then. Continuous thumbaround is either thumbaround>fl. ta>fl. ta or at least three thumbarounds (with push done very quick, see NHK's promotional vids).

Fake double or ext. Thumbaround is a thumbaround with a rev bak done after it. it is a hybrid so it is done together. See eso's tutorials or something else for that.

And Fake triple is thumbaround ext (see above) with another thumbaround on the end.

Pity that turtlespin isn't still up coz they had videos for the last two.

No, what you said Tim, was ThumbAround > Continuous Fingerless Thumbaround. Continuous Thumbaround is just Thumbaround > Thumbaround > Thumbaround ...etc.

And there's also the other variation ok Fake Double, Kam's one. Not sure how to notate it though. Thumbaround ~> Pass reverse T1-12?

A thumbaround that doesn't use the fingers to push, but uses hand motion instead.

Yeah I got it know. I kept calling Thumbless ThumbAround cause the first time I knew about it that's what it was called dry.gif

After watching eso's double ta tutorial a while ago, i noticed that when he did the fingerless ta for the second rotation around the thumb, it didn't look that good with the whole hand moving and all.

Instead i started doing the fingerless thumbaround in the double ta with minimal hand movement and just using the thumb to force an extra rotation. I was wondering if you can use the fingerless thumbaround with the whole hand moving or could u use the technique i described above in the continuous TA.

If you used the technique you described, it would be Continuous Fingerless ThumbAround. In order to do Cont. TA, you need to continuously push the pen. Just make the pen slide back into its starting position.

Good to see that you don't like the way I do my Double TA and taking matters into your own hands. I'm not being sarcastic here. smile.gif

Oh well, i thought it was that ages ago. Wasn't 100% sure.

Yeh I know that variation. It was on turtlespin (such a pity that placed closed down) and I learnt that one before the other one(one that I mentioned in my other post).

Wouldn't Cont. Fl TA be Double TA, Triple TA, Quadruple TA, etc?

    Date: Wed, Sep 12 2007 01:31:14

Double Thumbaround is not a good name to use in the first place since it is not two of the same trick. rolleyes.gif Oh well, it's an old name.

Cont. Fingerless Thumbaround would be just that.

you have to catch it in the right position for another thumbaround etc.

    Date: Wed, Sep 19 2007 13:50:05

So was that done by Fake Double -> index push TA?

  18. K4S
    Date: Fri, Sep 21 2007 06:22:52

Continious TA is just a regular TA -> index push TA....no fake double at the start unelss you want to of course.

  19. Rorix
    Date: Fri, Sep 21 2007 08:31:56

It doesn't have to be index push TA, continuous thumbaround can be done with middle push as well.

  20. thund3rcrash
    Date: Fri, Sep 21 2007 20:27:46

    I made it with a middle push (well,except for the last three ones(they're a bit sloppy,too dry.gif )) and without a fake double before...(anyway,I hate fake double^^)

Could you do a cont ta by doing a thumbaround then moving your thumb up the pen which causes it to spin again? There is no hand movement but reading some of the posts, doing that causes your index finger to push?? Well yeah thats how i do Cont TA, just a thumbaround then move my thumb up the pen which just causes to spin (maybe with the index push) and i can get around 3-4 on avg.

Someone explain if this is wrong or right??
