Whenever I attempt to transition from the TA to the palmspin, the pen loses momentum and it just rolls off. Any tips?

try to get the center of balance on the ridges of your hand. By ridges, i mean the point where your fingers meet your palm. the ridges are the highest point of your palm so it spins best there.

Maybe you might be putting your thumb to the right a bit early. If you see in the Aus collab, I did TA -> Palmspin + peace sign and maybe you can get tips from there. The Australian Collaboration

Perform the TA with your palm facing up, that way the pen can fall down onto the palm of the hand. Aim at getting the pen to land on the base knuckle of the middle finger, if you stretch your fingers back (or down in this case) you should see the part of the hand where the middle finger meets the palm is higher than the other parts. You want to practice getting the COP of the pen to land on that part so that it will spin without moving off the hand.

Palmspin is the pen spinning on your palm in a counterclockwise direction. When you're halfway done with a thumbaround, quickly jerk open your hand and let the pen spin on your palm.

I think it also helps if you do the ta on the lowest part of your thumb
