I'm new to PS (normally spin drumsticks) and i was finding it difficult to spin pens because of how light they are. So i decided to make my first mod. Its basically a bic barrel with 2 grips i found on some pens lying around along with their tips. It was still a bit light so i used some clay i had lying around to fill the barrel. Anybody else try this? I like it quite a bit.

Huh? If the clay is inside, then how is it being colourful good? You can't see it unless it's a BIC grip or something. Doesn't make sense to me. Also, A heavy centre isn't too good for spinning, IMO. If you're gonna make the middle heavy, make the ends heavy as well.

It's a clear bic (i guess colourful wasn't appropriate anyways because it's black clay), also i used metal tips to add some weight to the ends.

What kind of metal tips? And how does it spin?

you put clay in the barrel?

that's not good, you need weight on the ends, not the middle.

Mabey you should put clay at the ends of the barrel where the caps go instead of the whole thing.

I'm wondering if the clay may end up being too much weight without any give, once it's properly dried. It may too much of a dead-weight that could case cracking more easily. I'd like to hear more after a lot of use if the hardened clay makes the mod more brittle.

Well so far I find it much easier than spinning a stock pen. Also I think some of you may think it's the kind of clay your put in an oven and it hardens, it's actually a plastic clay that you can get at walmart. (I used to make claymations)

i use playdoh to balance my pens.

it hardens after a while. but only useful in hidden spots.

Example. in metal tips and some times the inktube when hidden by a insert.

but gota make sure pens still functional and can be taken apart.

this is gross. nothing like gunking up a good pen.

If you're into this, maybe you could also use chewing gum, or a small piece of leftover lasagna.
