UPSB v3
Advanced Tricks / Orientative Order to learn Tricks (Learning order)
-
Date: Fri, May 16 2008 18:18:05
i didnt know for sure where to post this, so i hope any mod moves it if necessary
well ive done an orientative order in with to learn tricks. here it is:
i hope new members find it helpful. after lvl 5 there are more tricks, but i beleive when uve reached that lvl that u can find them for yourself, but when u r a newcomer u need more help. and of course there are also more tricks for this lvls, but ive only included the ones i think are more useful to practice and to use in combos.
and i repeat its an orientative order, just what i beleive, and this may change depending on the spinner. for example, one can find easier a shadow than an indexaround, but i think theres no point in learning shadow if u dont know how to link a sonic with a tw sonic...
the idea is as follows, i think ppl should learn the tricks beggining with lvl 1, then 2, etc, but u cna skip some tricks if u wish to, of course xD
well hope everyone enjoys it =)
dust_kid has also helped making this other chart. thanks a lot! -

nice, you should exted it so you got every trick on it O.o
-
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 03:47:01
Why did you put arounds in section 1 and indexaround in section 2?
-
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 03:51:53
Add to it please.

Kind of confusing. I like kam's web better.
Perhaps another way of organizing it would be better? -
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 06:07:24
yea it seems that your order is a little confusing, I cant really explain it, it just doesn't seem right.
-
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 07:01:29
although i appreciate the effort you put in to your chart, it just doesn't make sense to me. I guess it just depends on your personal bias on when to learn certain tricks. Personally I would have incorporated shadows in to lvl 2.

I made an attempt to do something similar to Pentrix's one but with more tricks. Here's what I got:

@dust_kid: whoa O.O must've taken a long time to make that xD
its good how it has a better coverage of tricks :] good job -

Someone should sticky this topic ... For all the people who are like:
" WUT TREEK NEX ? " -

i know, but i dont pretty much know further tricks, as my lvl is not higher than that xDD i just think it might be useful for begginers.
QUOTE (AwonW)Why did you put arounds in section 1 and indexaround in section 2?
around is the branch where i included the bak, the indexaround and all. -

Could you give me credit for my version?

i copied your version in the first post, so that it helps more, as it's much more complete than mine xD -

Very nice
Covers just a simple number of tricks for beginners to learn in a logical order (I think)
I realized I learned them pretty much in that order also -
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 15:17:34
Still a bit messy, but better. Although there needs to be a few corrections. Neo-sonic and pass-arounds are all simply Finger Arounds 0.5. And a Bak rev is a FL IA.
Could use a lot of improvement still, to make it look more clean and easy to follow, ya know?
But nice job man. I appreciate the effort you took into making it. -

lol, Look Into The Sun gettin' all in your face eh?
-
Date: Sat, May 17 2008 17:39:14
Wow these must have taken awhile, but like alot of things they can laways be improved.
-

I would NOT catagorize this in as in order in which to learn tricks. I'm pretty sure there have been many discussions about trick orders for beginners, and they've all come out to the same conclusion: everyone learns tricks at a different paces and orders. No tricks should have levels, that's ridiculous. And as another point, for example, you don't have to know how to do the shadow in order to do the Devil's Sonic.
ALTHOUGH, I do believe that this is a good diagram that shows which trick would be easier to learn after certain tricks can be done fluently. -

cool ive been needing something like this! thanks!

At least put a "by dust_kid" or something.QUOTE (Look Into the Sun @ May 18 2008, 01:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And a Bak rev is a FL IA.
FL IA is done vertically, bak rev is done horizontally.QUOTE (Look Into the Sun @ May 18 2008, 01:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Could use a lot of improvement still, to make it look more clean and easy to follow, ya know?
Yeah, I'm thinking of how at the moment. -

And where's my credit for my massive lists in this style that were lost when PSCocnclave went down? Damn you PSConclave!
...anyway, good job I guess if someone really can't figure out what to do next, you can point them here to figure something out. BTW, the Trick List @ the wiki might be interesting for some of you too. -
Date: Sun, May 18 2008 01:43:26
The trick list at the wiki rocks. Too bad it wasn't around when I was newer. I used to visit a number of different sites just to learn tricks. And some even had different names for tricks -- all very confusing.

dust_kid updated the first post with your new one and credits. thnx!
-

Awesome job dust_kid.
For the future i think it'd be interesting to create a combo chart (something like K4LC > K7LC > Devil's Sonic Combo,,,). -

This chart should be sticked or something. -
Date: Sun, May 18 2008 21:17:28
You should just put Multiple Inifinity (rev, inv and inv rev) rather than creating a giant list of variations.
But it's awesome. -
Date: Sun, May 18 2008 21:27:17
Wasn't Eso working on a new-style type of chart? I forget if he dropped it or not.
-
Date: Mon, May 19 2008 15:10:26
Holy infinities.
It'd be nice to see a list like this color coded based on experience level. Fundamentals>Kind of advanced>very advanced>variations...
A catalogue of known pen spin tricks. -
Date: Wed, May 21 2008 17:11:34
It remind me of this
-
Date: Wed, May 21 2008 21:10:45
This is much nicer! Nice job indeed.
Why is there both fingerless fingeraround and korean bak rev? They're the same trick. Best to just have it like this: fingerless fingeraround/korean bak rev. -
Date: Wed, May 21 2008 21:31:25
FL FA is vertical i think...

I haven't put harmonics because it would just make it too confusing.
Also there are just too many tricks:
eg. twisted sonic
Twisted Sonic
Twisted Sonic Reverse
Inverse Twisted Sonic
Inverse Twisted Sonic Reverse
eg. Moonwalk Sonic
Moonwalk Sonic Normal
Moonwalk Sonic Reverse
Inverse Moonwalk Sonic Normal
Inverse Moonwalk Sonic Reverse
Pseudo Moonwalk Sonic Normal
Pseudo Moonwalk Sonic Reverse
Inverse Moonwalk Pseudo Sonic Normal
Inverse Moonwalk Pseudo Sonic Reverse -

-
Date: Thu, Jun 5 2008 06:01:18
Great list. I remember when I started spinning, I would go and look at Kam's list to see my progression. It had these 'ultimate goals' to which I strived for
I don't know if you've noticed, but you misspelled pseudo sonic as psuedo sonic. Maybe you'll want to fix it in the next version, if you're gonna make more. -
Date: Thu, Jun 5 2008 08:38:01
Ugh, I didn't notice, thanks.
I dunno if I'm gonna make more, I don't know what to add next. -
Date: Thu, Dec 11 2008 05:52:09
*BUMP*
I had some freetime today so I redid mine to make it more easily read and I changed some tricks that I have found from personal experience were incorrectly placed in the learning order. -
Date: Thu, Dec 11 2008 20:30:46
Isn't Fake Double and Tornado the same thing...?

That issue is kinda not resolved yet so I'm leaving it like this.
-

Someone should design something where you click on that trick and up pops a video of the trick... so you can learn it if you dont know what it is...
-
Date: Sun, Dec 14 2008 01:19:14
......I think it might help, Dusty. (Might. lol.)
Thanks anyway.
