Presentation board feels a little empty so....
Whats your favorite spinning effect?
Is an effect created by an insert or just the natural pen better? -

I think that how u spin it, and color combination
for example, red and blue looks better than dark green and pink. -

Favorite effect is an LED mod in the dark...but spinning in the dark is kind of tricky. Next up is the effect you get with a black/white striped cap.

Spinning in front of a computer monitor has a wicked effect. Natural pen or insert, both are a matter of personal preferance to me, it's the tricks that count.

Black pen with white background is so wicked.

agreed^
and try not to have stark white over a pure black background. the FPS tends to decrease. -

I try to use dark colors against a lighter background. It's somewhat easier on the eyes, but I avoid having pure white backgrounds. Too much light will "blind" the camera and makes it hard to focus on the spinning. So on that note, I like to use a pale yellow towel or an off-white towel so that it's easier on the eyes.
As for spinning effect, I don't spin Comssas, so I mostly rely on the insert and grip colors. -

My favorite would probably be a black pen, followed by a real bright color like blue or yellow. The effect is super noticable and I happen to spin better with nice combinations haha.

Has anyone got a video of a black pen/a pen with black caps and white body against a clear, shiny, all white background?

Whatever effect you can see with your own eyes it will look even better on a video since the fps in videos is usually 15-30fps. However if you start recording at say 60fps then you will see on video what you see with your eyes. Which brings up another issue...what fps is it best to record at to get maximum spinning effect while still keeping the video looking decent enough that people can actually see what you're doing.

29.5 FPS
Any slowwer and its choppy. For me I never liked High speed cameras, they look,... to smooth. Doesnt look real. -

The shutter is of great importance, too, if the time is too high most of the pen (especially the end of course) will be almost invisible because of motion blur, if the time is too low you will see frozen images without any visible movement, the pen will jump around making it more difficult to follow. The best time depends on the spinning-speed, it's best if the pen has a small trail so that you can see the dynamic.

An all white pen has a nice effect espcially with a couple black grips on each end.
